To be a bit desperate for this final dress!

Posting for traffic, and hopefully help!!

I have five events to go to over summer, each needing a different dress, I have a garden party event to go to, and some fabulous neutral shoes, which should go with anything.

Complete disaster! The dress I thought would be my final dress, dress number five, is absolutely huge!

So I have had to go back to the drawing board, I prefer natural fabrics, and I'm looking for something in a mid length, I'm only 5 foot three, I have a small waist, but reasonably large hips and bust, currently based on all the dresses I bought I would be a small size 8, possibly a size 6 in a brand like Hobbs, i'd definitely be petite,

I feel like I've seen every dress on the Internet, which can't possibly be possible! I'm looking for something with a V-neck, to show a little bit of cleavage, I think, and very nipped in waste, but then generous fabric on the hips, I guess maybe fit and flare? Nothing too radical, something classy and floral would be fine.

Please help, does anybody have any ideas, I feel like I've been absolutely everywhere in the Internet!

Up to 100 is my budget!

Thanks if anyone does help!

Dancing Leopard do some lovely wrap dresses that are good for curvy figures as you can pull the waist tight. Fabrics are generally floaty too.

Nipped in waist

No idea where you live but there is a clothes shop local to me owned by a couple of women who are constantly putting videos on Facebook and Instagram of their stock. One of the owners is a petite size 6/8/10 and the other more of an average size and it’s really interesting to see how the clothes look on different heights and body shape.
The shop has a website which when you’ve seen the clothes on real people does much their stock no favours but it may be worth a look because they do have some dresses at the minute which you may not have seen elsewhere
Before anyone accuses me of advertising something I have an interest in - absolutely not. The shop is nothing at all to do with me and other than seeing the owners online and occasionally in the village I don’t know either of them in person.
Only making a suggestion that you take a look at what they've
got by googling /searching on Instagram or Facebook for Wardrobe at the Cross, Neston as it appears you have exhausted all other options. Is the Gloria Mustard dress along the lines of what you are looking for?

That’s pretty

I wore this (red version) to an event recently. I’m shorter than the model so was only slightly above the knee on me. I got lots of compliments. I got it on eBay about half price as it is quite £££. I think I should get 2 or 3 wears out of it this summer so money well spent!

Each to their own but if it were me , and assuming the events were generic wedding/ garden party/ posh frock event I'd have spent £500-£750 on one fantastic dress and worn it to all of them.

Who cares that shock horror you appear in 2 sets of photos?

I've got a silk Hobbs dress in green floral pattern in a size 8, but (!) with a tie at the waist 🥰

OP posts:
Bumblebee907 · 20/05/2024 07:37

@IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle No, they're not.

I wasn't really going into detail about the other events but no, they aren't all the same style.

One 20s fancy dress
One black tie
One cocktail

Another is more of a beach theme.

Hence hire, borrow.

The photos have nothing to do with it.
