Never want to see his photo ever again

I completely understand why J Saville's name is brought up by the media when they talk about sexual harassment and abuse.
However, I wish they would just not use his photograph. I don't want to see his creepy face. He probably would love that he is still being seen after his death.
Nobody needs to see his face. Those of us old enough will remember and younger people just don't need to know.
I'd like to just eradicate him entirely but realise that history can be uncomfortable and he is part of a very dark and vile narrative that cannot be ignored. His face though? Nobody needs to see it. Yuck.

Ok then

ILikePistachios · 18/05/2024 17:12

Not sorry

Never want to see his photo ever again
ILikePistachios · 18/05/2024 17:13

Also, I'd like to add how ironic it is that you want him forgotten yet create a thread about him and reminded us all about his horrific crimes and appearance.

ManilowBarry · 18/05/2024 17:21

What about Hitler?

Or Brady?

Hindley?

Che Guevara? Idiots wearing g his t shirt or have his poster on their wall have no idea how evil he was but it's their right to ear or display his image.

Joseph Stalin?

FadedRed · 18/05/2024 17:26

TBH I tend to agree with you, I dislike seeing photos of people who have done horrendous things in newspapers and news apps etc.

floppybit · 18/05/2024 17:37

Now then, now then

x2boys · 18/05/2024 17:50

I don't think we should forget him not only because of what he did but how he was enabled to get away with his terrible crimes ,by The BBC, and The police etc
I mean im not exactly thrilled by his photo
But i dont think we should air brush him away

scrivette · 18/05/2024 17:52

I sort of get where you are coming from. In the news they often show a picture of the victim alongside a killer and I think that I don't want to see the photos together.

ILikePistachios · 18/05/2024 17:12

Not sorry

‘Ows about that then?

Orangeelephants · 18/05/2024 17:55

His behaviour has absolutely nothing to do with how he looks.

You can't help feeling he is 'creepy' when you look at him, but that's because of what he was like.

Erasing his photo won't erase the consequences.

Twattles · 18/05/2024 17:57

'Jingle Jangle Jewellery'

Moier · 18/05/2024 17:57

Why write a post on him then?
Unfortunately l met the guy a few times when my daughter was two.
My friends parents had the apartment next to his in Scarborough.
Had afternoon tea with him and his minder.
He bought my daughter gifts..
He was lovely .. but obviously we never knew what he was really like then or we wouldn't have had anything to do with him.
I think l should be more bothered than you OP.
But if we were upset or traumatised by every evil person in the world we would all be having PTSD. You have to learn to close your mind to evil.

How they looked is irrelevant.

Never want to see his photo ever again
tongsatdawn · 18/05/2024 18:01

I’m always a bit uneasy when people start posts/threads about Saville and can’t help questioning their motives.

x2boys · 18/05/2024 18:02

Orangeelephants · 18/05/2024 17:58

How they looked is irrelevant.

He was very handsome as a young man .

bossybloss · 18/05/2024 18:04

Why would you start such a thread????

MercyDulb0ttle · 18/05/2024 18:04

UhUHuhUHuhUHuhUHuh

MercyDulb0ttle · 18/05/2024 18:05

Oh and it’s Savile. Handily, it ends in “vile”.

AliceKyteler · 18/05/2024 18:06

I'm exactly the same. I won't follow a YouTube channel if they use his photo. Absolutely no need for it, we can address the cover up and the enabling of his abuse without seeing his face. I also agree he would love it.

AliceKyteler · 18/05/2024 18:12

Fucking hell I didn't read the other replies first. Sorry op you've attracted some very sick trolls who find abuse hilarious.

youjustdontgetbabyGertrudesnow · 18/05/2024 18:38

I think there are a lot of sick fuckers! Sorry, not sorry! Jesus! That attitude also turns my stomach. You should be ashamed of yourself. Some replies are almost celebrating him which is just sick.
I agree, people need to know the background but I don't think anyone ever needs to see the bastard's face ever again.

Probably shouldn't have started a thread about him if you want to eradicate his existence

NamechangeForthisquestion1 · 18/05/2024 18:50

Very weird how some people are finding this funny.

I agree OP, he makes me feel physically sick.

Bubblessz · 18/05/2024 18:51

I think you’re slightly unrealistic as he was a public figure that did horrific things, you’re likely never going to avoid press/social media about him. All you can do is avoid clicking and engaging with content about him.

justthecat · 18/05/2024 19:16

The point is this thread wouldn't be happening if you didn't bring him up
