Is it just me? I loved the longer Bluey episode but I kinda think it's a shame they didn't move. They could have done series four around them settling into a new place and making new friends etc.

Am I the only one who thinks them staying put was sweet but the wrong choice?

No I don't think so. I can see the argument for moving but I loved it how it was. Chilli didn't actually want to move, and Bandit was only doing it for more money. If they'd been into it for other reasons I'd have been disappointed, but I think they made the right choice. Although it'd have been good if THEY'D moved into the house with a pool!

I love the school and all the little side stories of their friends and neighbours, it'd have been way too much to just ditch all them and start again with brand new families.

My daughter was disappointed though, she was excited to see them move.

HamHand · 15/04/2024 10:12

I’m glad they stayed. I do think it’ll give a lot of kids who are actually moving false hope though!

PivotPivotmakingmargaritas · 15/04/2024 10:14

Agreed they should have moved , there are so many kids who have to move due to their parents it would have been great to see bluey be ok with that… Although it would have been great to see them travel around Aus for a year in a campervan … there would have been so many stories available then

Needmorelego · 15/04/2024 10:15

There's been flash forwards where they are still in the same community - so they couldn't move to a different city.
A different house maybe at some point.

HelenTudorFisk · 15/04/2024 10:23

Bandit Heeler was the hero we all need throwing that sign into the street 😭

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 15/04/2024 10:25

Our household was very glad they didn't move, that house is a big part of the show :-D i do wonder hat Bandit will do re his job though!

Exactly this! We’re due to move in the next couple of months and I thought a storyline about coping with the change would be really helpful. The sale falling through when the moving vans have already left also did not help my anxiety about it all, what kind of system do they have in Oz?!

SleepingStandingUp · 15/04/2024 15:06

Haha I thought that
Sellers pulling out so last minute, like where were they moving to?? Did they have to pull out of a sale or cop a month's rental? And will his work take him back? The new company is gonna be pissed off!

I think there was value in them coming round to the new opportunity and it couldn't have been too far cos thingy who got married was upset to be moving North away from them so presumably still within reasonable reach of family.

Flash forwards are a good point tho

I watched this half hour ago. I'm glad they stayed, watching it really hit Bingo was heart wrenching lol

Tarkan · 15/04/2024 17:53

I was the same as you OP. I was rather annoyed they didn't actually move. It could have been a great thing to show kids struggling with a big move. I was older than Bluey when we moved away but it's still hard as a kid to leave everyone and start making friends again.

Although in some ways I am relieved because that looks like Winton's dad and the Terriers' mum are shacking up now I guess? So I want to find out how that goes. Grin

OldSchoolCasualty · 15/04/2024 19:17

They should definitely have moved, but agreed, there were flash forwards when they were still in that house. Bandit was a hero tearing down that sign though! Bingo realising what the house being sold actually meant though was so sad!
Also side not congratulations to pregnant Brandy, that episode onesies was heart breaking!

TheLambtonWorm · 15/04/2024 19:18

They couldn't move, far anyway. Because Bingo and Lila are friends forever and ever and ever. The end.

Cheepcheepcheep · 15/04/2024 19:21

Oh good thank god it’s not just me. I loved so much of it but I then ignored my kids for 20m this morning researching what the hell kind of conveyancing system they have in Queensland! I know Chili wasn’t keen to move but lord can you imagine being packed up like that?!

Also agree there would have been a really good opportunity with the move. Made me think of the film ‘Inside Out’ - if I were about to move with a primary kid who wasn’t keen I’d be slightly annoyed 😂

Cheepcheepcheep · 15/04/2024 19:44

Good point re the flash forwards. I can’t imagine my 4yo and 2yo would care but I would 😂

@OldSchoolCasualty that destroyed me too, I was so happy to see that bump!

and @Tarkan i am very excited for that too 😂

Cupofteaandbiscuits · 15/04/2024 20:20

I agree. We have just made a huge move and now both kids have asked if we can go back to our previous house and area like in bluey 🤦🏻‍♀️
it could have been a nice little learning point!

pinksheetss · 15/04/2024 20:24

Glad they stayed so I don't have to buy another Bluey house of our own 😅

Tarkan · 15/04/2024 20:26

OMG how did I totally miss Brandy being pregnant? That's going to make me cry again. Blush

I have kids from a previous relationship but DH and I tried for years for one together and it just didn't happen and the Onesies episode just absolutely hits me every single time I see it.

I'm guessing a new cousin story will be coming too then. They've set a few new episodes up from this one. Hopefully we don't have to wait long. Grin

Fivebyfive2 · 15/04/2024 20:36

I think they could have mixed it up a bit - maybe they stay but Frisky moves and you get a montage with the Herlers in the house having chosen staying close to family and keeping the house with all their memories over getting more money, but juxtapositioned with Frisky and Rad actually living their best life "out West" to show change can be good too?

I loved the little ways it all ties in, like the coin and the terriers. I loved the kids talking at school (probably a snake ate him had me really chuckling)

Also, why did Bingo have no idea what was happening? My son wasn't yet 3 when we moved but he knew exactly what was going on so that but really confused me!

Loved all the Easter eggs like the flossing, greenie etc and Socks talking. Mort telling everyone to be quiet 🤣

AhBiscuits · 15/04/2024 20:41

Woah, spoilers!

popplego · 15/04/2024 20:59

I loved this episode. All the references back to previous episodes, the link of the coin throughout the story, "probably a snake ate him" 😂 And personally I'm really glad they stayed!

Knowing you're moving away and actually comprehending you might never see your friend again is completely different at that age. Our daughter's friend moved away and she didn't really understand what that meant until she wasn't sat next to her in school for a week!

Absolutely loved the episode though, secretly pleased my husband was working while we watched it so I can watch it again with him tomorrow.

Breaktimebitches · 15/04/2024 22:28

Excuse me OP, spoiler alert please!!!

Riverlee · 15/04/2024 22:33

This episode was mentioned on Radio 2 this afternoon. Why was it such a big deal? (Have young adult dc so Bluey has passed me by).

NoDiddy · 15/04/2024 22:38

I’m glad they stayed! Bandit was the only one who wanted to go, and even then he wasn’t sure and it was just for more money. I think it was nice to show that life isn’t just about making more money and it showed an adult realising he’d made a mistake and rectifying it. Not that I’m overthinking this at all of course…

Plus I’ve just bought DD the Bluey house and I really didn’t want it to be irrelevant straight away 😂.

Shocked that the ‘dogs with no eyes’ can just pull out on moving day and buy the house with the pool instead though!?

Dustyblue · 16/04/2024 03:01

I watched with my 7/o and I cried. A lot.

That is all.
