Lighthearted:) there was recently a thread about Vinted where I declared I hated it. I was so wrong. I am converted. I read some responses and decided to give it another go after one bad selling experience followed by another bad buying experience. Currently staring at a pair of Karen Millen Stillettos barely worn that have arrived and I will be wearing to a wedding next week... they cost me £4.50 and let me tell you they MAKE the outfit. I love it. When were you last so wrong and how did your life change after?

Not really an aibu I shamelessly want traffic :)

There was this one time when I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken. 🤣

SevenSeasOfRhye · 13/04/2024 21:23

I insisted to my husband that a particular song had been a hit in 1987 but it was in fact a hit in 1988.

TheGiantEmperor · 13/04/2024 21:25

I said Justin Bieber would never be famous because Bieber was a silly surname.

Mamette · 13/04/2024 21:25

I thought that the brother in “The Gentlemen” was Kevin from Motherland (well… the same actor) but I didn’t have my glasses on.

I need to get glasses 🤓

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 13/04/2024 21:26

I am a scientist formulating hypotheses, so all the time!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 13/04/2024 21:26

I ordered the wrong pizza this evening. So many regrets.

HospitalitySux · 13/04/2024 21:29

I work in hospitality so public facing (as the name suggests) I'm always wrong, regardless of the situation 🤣

Thanks- you’ve ruined Daniel Ings for me forever!! I actually think he should have played Ed so that’s something the casting director got wrong!!

I'm a counter assistant in a pharmacy.... always wrong... always. 😄

PracticallyPerfectedIt · 13/04/2024 21:45

So many to choose from...

I thought COVID wasn't a big deal and everyone was over reacting Blush

I thought Crunchie Rocks were a brand new invention when they were in fact released in 2010 and I'd just never noticed them before.

Those are probably my two biggest clangers from the last few years.

mainly badly for the outcome of my experiments and for new grant applications (and therefore my job). In my defence, they are always hypotheses that are well grounded in the literature, but it just goes to show how little we know about the brain!

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 13/04/2024 21:54

wait, are Crunchie Rocks as good as they sound, before I get all excited about something that is not confectionary??

Crunchie Rocks are Life.

I say this as someone who doesn't like honeycomb, and refuses to eat anything else Cadburys...

Shamefully, same here about covid! We weren't to know though. Crunchie rocks sound lush!

There is something suspicious about air fryers and I refuse to believe they are any good.

I know deep down I'm probably wrong.

As Mandy says in the new series, ‘What’s the point of an air fryer? Who wants fried air?’

Mapletreelane · 13/04/2024 22:18

I was absolutely certain Penfold was a mole.

Apparently he is a hamster.

Still not convinced.

Summerhillsquare · 13/04/2024 22:18

I said Uggs and skinny jeans would never catch on.

mrsfollowill · 13/04/2024 22:22

I thought 'the internet' wouldn't catch on from what I'd seen of it - well it was a bit 'lame'- this was in about 1994ish!

TartanCulshie · 13/04/2024 22:25

Salted carmel.

I thought it was savoury taste people ruining something good by making it their own. For years I shunned it and ranted against them for 'corrupting' a favourite sweet treat. But salted carmel is the fuckin bomb!!! I love it, and can believe I'm so late to the party. Think of all the salted carmel opportunities I've missed out on . Heartbreaking.

Mushroo · 13/04/2024 22:27

I thought iPads / tablets were stupid. Why would i want something that’s just a screen?! (I was wrong)

Also thought thunder was the sound of clouds banging together. One of those things I’d been told as a child and just never thought about it logically!

SallyWD · 13/04/2024 22:30

I was certain I vaguely knew a very famous author. I often told people I did, including my bookclub. Everyone was very impressed. Years later I found out it was just some random person with the same name! I'm too embarrassed to admit my mistake.
