Lighthearted:) there was recently a thread about Vinted where I declared I hated it. I was so wrong. I am converted. I read some responses and decided to give it another go after one bad selling experience followed by another bad buying experience. Currently staring at a pair of Karen Millen Stillettos barely worn that have arrived and I will be wearing to a wedding next week... they cost me £4.50 and let me tell you they MAKE the outfit. I love it. When were you last so wrong and how did your life change after?

Not really an aibu I shamelessly want traffic :)

That nobody in their right mind would ever need to send "electronic mail". Secondary school IT lesson, 1990...

My dad told a friend of his who eventually became rather famous to give it a rest and join his dad's business.

Salted carmel.

I thought it was savoury taste people ruining something good by making it their own. For years I shunned it and ranted against them for 'corrupting' a favourite sweet treat. But salted carmel is the fuckin bomb!!! I love it, and can believe I'm so late to the party. Think of all the salted carmel opportunities I've missed out on . Heartbreaking.

And on a related note, I used to think bacon and maple syrup sounded disgusting and vehemently refused to try it....until I went to the US and had it there on pancakes. I utterly adore it and would have it for breakfast everyday if possible!

Agree salted caramel is the best though.

I thought 'the internet' wouldn't catch on from what I'd seen of it - well it was a bit 'lame'- this was in about 1994ish!

Oh god yes I remember my boyfriend at the time explaining his laptop was WiFi enabled and me being incredulous that anyone would want that and it would never catch on 🤦🏻‍♀️

Doje · 13/04/2024 22:38

I remember telling my friend that mobile phones would never catch on. I said "I am already always contactable. Either at work or at home. Otherwise I'm busy". 😳

More recently I said a couple who got together at work would never go the distance. He was a player. She was too nice for him. They got married last year. (I'm still secretly convinced she'll see the light at some point! 🤣)

I thought David Bowie was singing about being able to buy lemons again.

"Wannabe" had one-hit-wonder written all over it.

I ate a large bag of walkers sensations to myself today and didn't share with dh. That was wrong. (No regrets)

I ordered the wrong pizza this evening. So many regrets.

I ordered a pizza in Italy. It was a cheese less one!! Many regrets.

I have two daughters. I’m wrong about everything, apparently 🙄

Today:
Lost receipt to present
Ordered cake with vanilla sponge instead of chocolate
Arrived at a fancy West End restaurant. A week early (TBF they did offer us bar seats if we wanted) I did not.
Despite all this was a brilliant day
I learned doing things differently whilst challenging can turn out better than you expect.
Also learned that I intensely dislike people using AIBU incorrectly and then putting a joke on it to make it sound okay. No OP, it's not on.

I accused one of the cats of leaving a trail of something disgusting across the coffee table earlier...turns out I'd actually picked up a partially used sachet of soy sauce thinking it was full and left a trail of drips.

Moonshine5 · 14/04/2024 00:24

A wrong day turned out so right.

I remember hearing Coldplay's first single on the radio and thought "third rate Radiohead copyists, they'll sink without a trace."

Somehow I managed to stay oblivious to everything they did after that until I read that the singer was marrying Gwyneth Paltrow, and I thought how on earth is a Hollywood star marrying someone from some crappy little English indie band that no one's ever heard of? How would they even meet?

Then I googled Coldplay and discovered they'd somehow become one of the biggest bands on the planet without me noticing.
