To not be able to find 34" (86cm) leg women's jeans

Towerofsong · 12/04/2024 09:36

Posting here for traffic, out of desperation. I don't need to know if IABU, I just need suggestions :-)

I am cursed with long legs (yes, it is a curse, I spend my life with trousers flapping around my ankles) and am looking for good quality, smart black jeans. Preferably slim leg to look smart with a tailored jacket.

M&S - I can only find their Lily which I already have, and is 1" too short, the stretch has gone baggy, and they faded.
Mint Velvet - their lengths only go to 31"
Levi's - nothing in a 34 leg womens for a 34 waist (size 16). The minute you have 34" legs you are only allowed to have a 32" waist. I'm working on it but am mid 50's, menopause is against me!
Long Tall Sally - what they have has pretty bad reviews.
John Lewis - nothing coming up
Next - all seem to be out of stock, they have one pair of £26 XXLong which will probably be a stopgap but I would like to buy a decent quality pair to last.

Fatface - their Long is only 32"

Any other ideas? Would I be better giving up and going for cropped jeans and add mid calf DM type boots in the winter? Though that doesn't go with a tailored jacket....

Should I move to the Netherlands so I can shop more easily?

Huit Denim. They go up to a 35 inch leg. Not cheap but super well made.

Elisheva · 12/04/2024 09:43

I have a 33” inside leg and have always worn M&S sienna jeans. They have recently changed them, (the label says ‘New, improved length’) and the Long are now too long. Annoying for me, might be long enough for you?!

Librarybooker · 12/04/2024 09:43

I’ve not bought jeans from Long Tall Sally but their tops are definitely good as it’s long arms I need most. I’m a 32 leg and generally find M and S pretty good. I only buy wide leg, skinny and straight jeans - bootcut and any flary jeans are always impossible to get the length right.

HashBrownandBeans · 12/04/2024 09:45

I have a 36” inside leg so I feel your pain. Asda actually do some skinny jeans that I wear for work that are long enough for me!

It’s definitely true the long is longer now. One pair of M and S jeans I have is a medium, which I would never have thought possible a few years ago

ASOS tall section

DD wears 34" inside leg jeans and used to buy from Top Shop. She has some Lucy and Yak jeans and trousers, but I will ask where some of her other clothes are from.

ASOS tall section

This.

My Dd has a 35’ inside leg. We’ve scored well at Urban Outfitters with their 34” legs.

But only Asos do the range of styles and lengths. I bought her some Longer length joggers from M and S once in the struggle to find them. They were just laughably short.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 12/04/2024 09:50

Also all those brands like Select and PLT are good at longer length.

Bjorkdidit · 12/04/2024 09:50

M&S do the Sienna in extra long, which it says is 35 inches. Although the black ones in 16XL appear to be out of stock currently, but might be worth signing up to the email to see if they come back in stock?

You could also try on shorter ones to wear with boots or as 7/8 length - current fashion seems to have trouser lengths slightly shorter so they're half mast/ankle grazing rather than what we would have considered 'normal' length previously.

I'm slightly shorter than you but I have some black M&S trousers in both XL and regular - the XL ones are proper long to wear with heels and the regular ones finish just above my ankles so look OK with sandals or trainers in the summer.

fashionqueen1183 · 12/04/2024 09:50

Topshop always did 34.

Try Zara. Their trousers seem to be made for super models lengths!

Bjorkdidit · 12/04/2024 09:52

Is there anything at H&M, them being Scandinavian, so should be used to tall people? Or Next, because they have a huge range.

littlegrebe · 12/04/2024 09:52

I was very surprised to find some good ones in River Island recently. No idea what my inside leg is but I'm 5'10" and also bear the curse of the flappy ankles, and this latest pair are actually slightly too long for me. I did have to try on a lot to get to the right ones but it was worth it.

annieloulou · 12/04/2024 09:53

33 inside leg - Next or M&S usually fit, although it’s very boring and restrictive only being able to get jeans from 2 shops, and sometimes the long can be a tiny bit too short as well.

I’ve got some black work trousers from Asda which are okay, long enough.

ive got 2 jumpsuits from Quiz which are very nice and actually long, without being specifically longer length. Will try and find the link.

This has reminded me I've also managed to get some very good length proper trousers in & Other Stories. H&M itself in my experience can't even manage a consistent waist size so I gave up on their trousers a long time ago.

EnglishBreakfastTea · 12/04/2024 09:56

Try Holland Cooper

MAFSAUS · 12/04/2024 09:58

I always buy Next xxl although have bought Topshop & Long Tall Sally in the past. ASOS tall is a good shout.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 12/04/2024 10:01

Abercrombie and Fitch do some longer length jeans.

Towerofsong · 12/04/2024 10:03

Thank you all, some brands there I hadn't thought of /hadn't heard of!!

Men's might work. I have the opposite problem with short legs but can wear Next short length jeans.

Rainbowshit · 12/04/2024 10:05

ASOS do long length jeans. They sell the topshop brand too which has a tall section.

GoodnightAdeline · 12/04/2024 10:06

ASOS. So many with 34 leg.

l wish my dd could wear men’s but they don’t fit her shape at all. It’s a nightmare!

PacmanIsLost · 12/04/2024 10:07

I like men’s Levi’s 501. Worth trying some on to get your size then have a look at Vinted for a bargain. I love them.

123feraverto · 12/04/2024 10:11

My favourite at the moment are Tesco !
It's a bit hit and miss finding them but the Long are a good length

I think my others are Topshop so that's not really much help - asos still sell some of the long length but again also difficult to find
