What to eat instead of pasta

I don’t know if it’s becoming older but I seem to feel rubbish after eating pasta. It’s so easy though just to whip up some pasta, add some veg / sauce after a long day but I don’t want to eat it if it’s making me feel rubbish… what could I swap it for instead?

We hardly ever eat pasta. We’re trying to eat fewer carbs so I make meals like chicken thighs, roasted with onions, garlic and celery. Served with three or four different vegetables. I do pork in a rich tomato, garlic and chilli sauce served with corn on the cob and homemade coleslaw.

Green pea pasta is the best

@justasking111 very similar here but DS doesn’t cycle! I’m dairy intolerant too and limit myself to one coffee a day

I wonder if it's a blood sugar thing.

You might feel less rubbish if you make sure the meal includes a decent amount of protein.

Beans
Chickpeas
Bulgar Wheat
Lentils

We’ve tried to increase the amount of beans we are eating as they are so good for you and have found they replace the carbs we need.

Also check the ingredients on gluten free/alternative pastas the cheaper ones can have filler and emulsifiers vs others which are 100% chickpea flour for example.

Wholemeal pasta is much nicer

I'm the same. I'm 40 and have recently cut out white carbs (Generally speaking. I'll still have a roast or pizza or whatever when I fancy).
Pasta is the one that makes me feel really sluggish, gassy and bloated.
I don't know what to replace pasta with as such. But my equivalent of a pasta dish (ie, quick and creates little washing up) is scrambled or fried eggs with halloumi (one pan) and an avocado. Or a packet of microwave mixed beans in spicy sauce, with a fried egg and avocado. Or just a plain 3-egg cheese omelette with nothing on the side. Basically i live on eggs, cheese and avocado!

Pasta expands like mad in my belly and makes me feel awful of I eat more than a couple of bites.
You could do Vietnamese rice noodles, with veg stir-fry, or in a soup/broth?
You can get GF pasta which might suit you better, I've not tried it.
My go to carb is always the good old jacket potato though!
