Doubt it’s real.

Leapardsandspots · 24/03/2024 12:43

Presuming they were still married when he died, saved a costly divorce and splitting of assets.

Doubt it’s real.

I reckon it’s an art project or similar. I mean look at the dates.

Bumblebeeinatree · 24/03/2024 12:44

Bit late to tell him now!

Dillydollydingdong · 24/03/2024 12:45

Well she hasn't wasted money on buying a brand new bench! I suppose it depends on whether Roger is still alive. If he's alive then no reason why she shouldn't let him know that she knows.
If he's no longer in the land of the living a bit pointless really. And mean.

LiterallyOnFire · 24/03/2024 12:45

If she regrets it, she can have it removed. Her own business.

tanstaafl · 24/03/2024 12:47

I reckon there’ll be more appearing … it’s the Bench Banksy

Wooloohooloo · 24/03/2024 12:47

I don't reckon it's real- like someone else said- strange dates- 69 and Xmas Day?

If it is real it's pointless and potentially upsetting for his kids.

DustyLee123 · 24/03/2024 12:47

I think it’s a joke too. Roger, 69 etc

KarstRegion · 24/03/2024 12:50

I hope it spawns more.

Bubobubo · 24/03/2024 12:51

It would have to be Clifton.

Riapia · 24/03/2024 13:04

I do so hope that it is real.

Latenightreader · 24/03/2024 13:06

I wonder whether this was Roger’s Christmas present…

Pantaloons99 · 24/03/2024 13:08

If it's real, I'd say this sort of thing would be difficult for the kids. The same with any genuine public announcements

Leapardsandspots · 24/03/2024 13:38

Art project?

What do the dates infer?

Hadn't occured to me the end date might have been their divorce, not death date.

Agree totally a plaque like this could be hurtful to any children.

Which reminds me of a friend, lovely woman, dedicated wife, 3 young children who's husband abandoned her to set up home with his younger secretary. Friend soldiered on as a single parent, working and bringing her children up, who rarely saw their father as he never bothered with them.

3 weeks before decree absolute, the husband died suddenly. He hadn't' altered his will, life insurance, work insurance benefits or ownership of house. Friend and children got the lot. OW ended up penniless.

That is karma.

Art project?

What do the dates infer?

For starters, while obviously many, many people were born on the 6th of September 1969, when coupled with an unusual inscription like this the DOB of 6/9/69 does stand out. As does the second date of Christmas Day (on which no divorces are finalised in this country).

Testina · 24/03/2024 14:15

Oh come on, that’s obviously not real with those dates 🤣

Cabbagepatchkid2 · 24/03/2024 14:17

It’s a bit pointless without his surname - Could be any old Roger!

I doubt it’s real though.

SeaAndCakes · 24/03/2024 14:18

Yeah the dates are very suspicious. But I like it - real or not!

EmmaEmerald · 24/03/2024 14:20

OP this is definitely a project

dates.

Roger.

willWillSmithsmith · 24/03/2024 14:44

I doubt Roger’s bothered.

Most likely not real as they’re going to know Roger’s not reading that plaque anytime soon.

Testina · 24/03/2024 14:49

I mean even the name, “Roger” 🤣
It’s funny, but it’s obvious.

PrimaniTu · 24/03/2024 14:56

I'm of a similar age and don't know any Rogers my age. I think they were a couple of decades or so before me.

Rogers are in their 70s by now. Although of course there are exceptions.

oakleaffy · 24/03/2024 15:02

Fake!
tatty old bench and oral sex dates.
Rodger.
