Why would Christmas Day be the date of divorce?

Surely it's the date of death?

I'm not really understanding the art project suggestion. That seems a bit tenuous to me.

I reckon there’ll be more appearing … it’s the Bench Banksy

Is there such a thing as a 'Bench Banksy'? Never heard of it before.

Exactly - it was just that someone else had said it might be a divorce date.

Art project = just for fun, boredom, silliness, whatever. I just mean that it’s clearly not serious.

@Leapardsandspots last date would be the date that her love for him died and she threw him out!

Stolen text/idea from the artist TheMisfortuneteller.

It was his original idea from 4 years ago.

I'm not sure she could regret it as such, because no-one knows her and as it's been screwed to a public bench, it'll no doubt be removed.

I'm of a similar age and don't know any Rogers my age. I think they were a couple of decades or so before me.

Rogers are in their 70s by now. Although of course there are exceptions.

I know two Rogers, both absolute arseholes.

My ex husband is a Roger - born in 1967

I think I was married to one of them!

Yes OP I think it is a joke - '69' 'Roger' etc

Kleptronic · 24/03/2024 16:00

We've got an aldi Banksy round our way. Stencils electrical boxes with peace and love doggerel.

Lavenderandbrown · 24/03/2024 19:39

I get the 69 but what’s the significance/ secondary meaning of “Roger”?

Rogering somebody is fucking them.

And yep, that bench is about 20 years old given the amount of wear and tear, but the alleged date of death is 3 months ago. So somebody has just screwed the plaque to a random old bench in the park, not paid to have that inscribed on their deceased husband’s memorial bench.

Yes whoever did it copied another artists work from 2020 as mentioned in my post above but changed the details.

Presumably a MNer who bought it instead of a designer handbag
