To have a massive crush on Snape?

Oh well. I am 52 years old, divorced and the last time I have crushed on a movie character was 35 years ago! Apparently, I am not the only one, and I found tonnes of webpages with stories that are basically snape caning you! Dunno why but I just find it so tilitating!

I didn't have a crush on him but he was definitely my favourite character. I remember saying to my mum when the casting was being announced, "What actor would you choose to play Snape?" and she said "Alan Rickman" with barely a moment's thought.

And there are tonnes, I repeat tonnes of those caning stories! Just search up ‘Snape caning’. Nothing that isn’t on the net!

Love snape. We saw someone dressed up as snape at a comicon recently and my autistic 9 year old thought he was brilliant and kept following him around shouting "I've got the elder wand". Snape was very tolerant of him and kept telling ds to turn to page 394 which ds loved!

This is completely normal. I have no desire to be caned by him but I feel that if I had been around I would probably have been the catalyst for his redemption - have you read any fan fiction? - If not I recommend that you do - caning is optional!

Yeah, both those sites have some really weird, downright perverted stuff on them. I used to read Captain Hook fanfic (inspired by Jason Isaacs) and some of it was horrible - way past spicy or even kinky.

I used to read these too! I love Jason Isaac’s (love him even more in Harry Potter). I think I have a pretty high ick threshold although maybe I didn’t encounter the really dark ones.

Oh, there’s vast amounts of Snape/Harry slash, Snape/Harry/Draco stuff, lots of hurt/comfort, dungeon torture stuff. It was all going on in the background as the novels were coming and out as the more mainstream fandom was obsessed with warring Harry/Hermione and Hermione/Ron factions.

Definitely not unreasonable. Everyone knows Snape is hot. And adorable.

There was one really weird one where Captain Hook imprisoned Lucius Malfoy ... I enjoyed it at the time but I suspect it would revolt me now. And it was nowhere near the nastiest of them.

I still like some of the ones where Hook defeats Pan, though!

I imagined him as Alan Rickman when I read the books. Well before the films. Mainly because my history teacher looked a lot like Rickman but still.

I thought of him as Rickman very easily because I was sure Snape and Obadiah Slope must be related! 😄

Oh my friend, it is Alan Rickman you love as well. (That voice!) Go and watch all his movies immediately, starting with Truly, Madly, Deeply. (And he is much more compelling in Die Hard than Bruce Willis!)
