To have a massive crush on Snape?

Oh well. I am 52 years old, divorced and the last time I have crushed on a movie character was 35 years ago! Apparently, I am not the only one, and I found tonnes of webpages with stories that are basically snape caning you! Dunno why but I just find it so tilitating!

Oh my friend, it is Alan Rickman you love as well. (That voice!) Go and watch all his movies immediately, starting with Truly, Madly, Deeply. (And he is much more compelling in Die Hard than Bruce Willis!)

It's the Sherif of Nottingham that does it for me!

Just love Snape (and Alan Rickman generally)

Absolutely, I always knew that would be an upsetting film.

Oh, but it isn't; there's a lovely resolution; Rickman is the most emotionally generous of ghosts!

Alan Rickman, yes. Snape, absolutely not.

He bullied Neville absolutely horrifically. Given what had happened to Neville's parents, the fact he had Snape as his worst fear means he must have been terrifying.

He had favourites and was horribly unfair sometimes with how he dealt with pupils. He also held grudges for years, even through generations of the same family.

Ok he loved Lily, but he also tried to poison a 14 year old's toad because he didn't think he was doing well enough in Potions...

He was pretty selfish and bitter really. Hated Harry, an innocent child, because he looked like the bloke that "stole" the woman he loved. He'd have been an incredibly toxic partner.

Loved Alan Rickman , he was so bloody good at everything he did. His generation can turn their hands at any character and ace it.

For me Rickman always means Mr Slope in the Barchester Chronicles (which I think was his first big role in television). So wonderfully slimy! Also loved him as Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility.
