Is it acceptable to chat up or come on to a woman when she is in the gym or swimming pool/hot tub? And let's say the woman is older by 10-20 years than the guy?

I think ages are irrelevant. It would be creepy and/or really annoying.

It depends, in a gym were you both regularly go, it would be ok to ask if they've got time to grab a coffee afterwards. Chatting up, isn't ok. The sauna in one of our local gyms was known as a pick up place.

Stopped using the sauna at my gym after this happened. There were two women in there, they left, so me and two blokes who were clearly mates. One nodded at the other to leave. Then the guy asked me out. I wish I’d been faster and just left when the women did. Wish there were single sex options.

Surely men do not chat women up in shops, on bus stops or any other casual place where people do some business. Why sports hall is a green light for that

Depends, I don't see why the age makes a difference at all, not sure what that's got to do with it, but is the age of the woman obvious? What situation are you in where you're in a hot tub with strangers? I'd say hot tubs are a fairly sexual place and would think it's normal to be chatted up in them. If it's people who see each other regularly at the gym and getting to know each other and the blokes is polite and respectful fine. If he keeps asking when the woman has made it clear she's not interested, it's not fine in the slightest. If the chatting up is very sexual, lecherous and all comments are on physique it's creepy, if it's done politely and respectfully fine. Completely depends.

No. It’s not ok. Swimming pools, saunas and gyms should be places where women feel comfortable and at ease especially considering they often involve states of undress.

There are a myriad of dating apps and websites men can go to ask women out or even look for casual sex if they so wish. They should bloody well leave us alone in the gym and sauna. I’ve had to leave gyms before due to creepy men in the pools/saunas. It’s fcking vile.

Most of us can tell the difference between a come on and normal conversation. Eg:

in the sauna:
Normal: blimey it’s hot in here isn’t it? Gawd.

come on: I like your bikini, but for a “proper” sauna experience we really should be naked eh? (Said with a lecherous look)

Normal: Ah I’m glad the saunas back working, they’ve been repairing it for weeks!
