To eat some foods in a very particular order

DinoMummsy · 06/03/2024 21:04

Aibu or does anyone else do this. I always eat toast in the exact same order - bite off and eat the corners first, then bite off the remaining crusts then the middle bit last, with a sip of coffee inbetween each bite. Is this weird or does anyone else have a specific way they eat certain foods?

Only Bourbon biscuits. Bite off the top layer. Nibble the bottom bit round the edges, eat the last bit of bottom layer that is covered with filling.

A fellow bourbon connoisseur

Food needs to be eaten in a specific way. Once I have the right way of doing it then that order has to be followed.

midgetastic · 06/03/2024 21:12

Kitkats

Mrsphilmiller · 06/03/2024 21:12

I used to eat the caramel part of the twix first. But now, I’m just a greedy pig and shove the whole thing in my mouth.

AngelicInnocent · 06/03/2024 21:12

Jaffa cakes. Nibble the edges and then the middle orangy bit goes in as one mouthful.

Tunnocks teacakes, eat the biscuit bit off the bottom and then get covered in marshmallow as you eat the rest.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 06/03/2024 21:12

Nope. I eat it however. No particular order with any foods. If eating a 2 finger KitKat, I often just bite it without separating the two fingers. This upsets some people, apparently Grin.

Exactly! I even have to prepare it in a very specific way - hate anyone making my toast as they would definitely do it wrong 🤣

Kitkats

Totally agree.

M&Ms also. Excess of any colour to be eaten so you have equal numbers of each colour left. Then one of each colour.

Not so much an order, but I have a very strict rule about sandwiches.

Meat/cheese has to be on the bottom, salad stuff on top of that - to be held and eaten that way.

Otherwise it's just upside down.

Same with chocolate digestives.

DillDanding · 06/03/2024 21:24

No. That’s weird.

I'm with you on the tunnocks order, but for me a jaffa has to be eaten full moon, half moon, total eclipse, and it has to be a Lidl jaffa - dont like mcvities ones 🤢

@ItsAStupidQuestion , you mean other people eat them upside down? Shock

Yes I've seen people just pick them up willy-nilly and bite them any which way!

It's just wrong!!

KirstenBlest · 06/03/2024 21:33

@ItsAStupidQuestion , I'd encourage them to eat food that have no obvious top and bottom, or ones that are impractical to eat upside down.

Iwant2beJessicaFletcher · 06/03/2024 21:37

I eat bought sandwiches the same way every time. I eat all the crusts off the 1st triangle. Then crusts off the 2nd triangle. I then eat my crisps. Then I go back to my sandwiches. I eat it from the outside in (where the crusts used to be first) for the 1st one, then the 2nd one.

DH thinks its bonkers, but I can't eat them any other way!!

Yay, glad it's not just me then. I swear they taste better eaten this way.

^^ This!!

I rarely buy biscuits but treated myself to a packet recently. Last night, I opened the pack and ate them exactly this way! Then I asked myself what on earth I was doing and tried to eat one normally. It wasn't the same at all. They absolutely have to be eaten in this manner.

Usernamesarenoteasy · 07/03/2024 12:38

I'm currently eating a sainsburys apple, mango, strawberry and raspberry fruit salad.

And I have just realised that I always eat all the apple, then the strawberries, then the raspberries, then the mango. Never any other order.

BobbyBiscuits · 07/03/2024 12:43

I would never dream of biting a half slice of toast right on the middle! I have to start at one of the corners. Same goes for a sandwich.

I find when I eat I need an equal amount of everything on my fork, and to try and make there be an equal amount left on the plate. So if I had sausage, mushroom and chips, there would HAVE to be a piece of each on each bite. I can't ever run out of one item first.

I also tend to eat very slowly, and have to come back to my food for a second attempt, which can annoy people at a dinner/ restaurant. Not that anyone has ever complained. Some have tried to eat my food as soon as I put my fork down though!

So kind of the opposite of seperating foods out very regimentedly. Everyone is different! Nowt wrong with that.
