Panicking because I ordered one bra, and the company added additional crap at the checkout without me realising, and it's now totalled over $300

Not really an AIBU but I could be about to learn a very expensive lesson. Ordered one bra, and when I got to the checkout it said Would you like to add this item and that item? I was clicking complete order trying to skip past them, but unknowingly was adding stuff to my order I didn't even want. Stuff's not even my size or anything. I emailed them within minutes to cancel my order and get a refund, and they offer me a 25% discount. I said Please cancel my order and refund my money. They offered me a 50% discount. I said Please cancel my order and refund my money. The swiftness of the replies and the sudden massive discounts are obviously ringing alarm bells that this has been a scam all along. Do I have any chance of getting my money back? I paid through PayPal. Or am I doomed to pay over $300 for a load of A cup bras and underwear I don't even want.

Maybe this post might be a warning to others. I hate this feeling so much

They've said they'd refund me, but then I also an unauthorised log in on my paypal account. I feel sick. I changed the password and checked for unauthorised transactions.

Where did you find the website? Via a link or a direct type in?

Via an ad Report the ad to the platform you were on.

Contact PayPal asap and register the activity., they will/should refund I believe under a section 75.

Change all passwords across all devices asap

Contact the bank that's linked to PayPal and get cards locked and tell them suspected fraud

I just called the bank and cancelled my card. Feel like such an idiot.

I now take the view that all products advertised on Facebook or instagram are either scams of else just shit products like hiSmile teeth whitening products of il makiage foundation or that hair living complex stuff with sally Hughes’s endorsements all over it. All just overpriced shit that does nothing.

Definitely raise an issue with PayPal. As @hothotheatbag says, they'll get you a refund. You won't be the only one, so PayPal will probably freeze their account. Also report to Facebook!

Was it that criss-cross, magic lift, no underwires bra? I keep seeing that and thinking it looks like a great idea - but can't find it on any normal websites 🤔

It has a floral back and no underwires. But yes, probably. I've reported it on Facebook. Thank you for your advice everyone. I buy a lot of shit on Facebook 🤦 Some stuff has been good. Really pleased with the make up brush and sponge cleaning stuff, although I think I ended up buying that on Amazon. Had some clothes in the past. Coco and Eve hair stuff, won't bother with that again. It wasn't that amazing.

I better just assume everything on there is a scam from now on and just click hide the ads. Would just delete Facebook altogether, but have thousands of old photos on there (set to private). I waste so much time on there really.

For future stuff I'd just take note of the brand, go off the ad and then type in the address to the browser. Don't stop shopping, just stay safe.

It's more than likely "look alike" domains if it is actually a scam. You could go to your history and see if the site can be accessed outside of the advert link.

Did you pay by credit card? If so, please contact your credit card company, they can refund the money via themselves, and they'll reclaim the money from the company that did this to you.

There's a particular floral wireless bra sold by a company that's very prone to that kind of nonsense. The bra is OK, but the business model seems to rely on sneakily adding charges for worthless junk. Beware of them putting you on a "subscription ".

I ordered one too op and got scammed, they signed me up to a subscription without my knowledge and then started taking money each month even though I only ever ordered one bra. Luckily the bank sorted it out. As a side note the bra was actually the best one I've ever had but I've since found the exact same one on Amazon so I'll order my next one from there instead!

Even though they call it Floral Secrets, the company that took my money is called Nymbus LLC. The ones on Amazon look the same, and cheaper as well. But they don't seem to have my size because I am a G cup.

It's really easy to download all your facebook data - if you open your account menu there is an option to download all data Facebook has on your account which includes all of your photos.

I got scammed on Facebook: fake mint velvet outlet site. The bank refunded me.
Later I received a few unexpected items (part of another scam I think) from China.
The bank contacted me and said they'd cancelled my card and ordered me a new one so they must have picked something up.
I was annoyed with myself too OP. I won't order from a Facebook site again.

Perhaps this is a lesson to take your time when you are ordering anything online....to double check terms and conditions to what you are clicking on...not meant to sound catty but you do need to take some responsibility here.

Living Proof? If so, I use it, it's really good. I'm amazed that Sali Hughes would get paid to promote hair care products as her hair is so dry and damaged after dyeing it grey. Thankfully, I've been using it for years. For me, SH is an anti influencer. Anything she recommends, I automatically think, is rubbish.

I saw some pics on fb of some incredible models/plushies from a film I love being sold for £20, it looked too good to be true and sure enough the photos were stolen from an Etsy seller who sells them for hundreds. I saw comments on the original post of people going ‘just ordered, can’t wait!’ I wonder whether they received anything or if the seller just took the money and ran. I added a comment trying to warn people but who knows if it helped anyone
