in black and white is terribly unimaginative and following the herd? I've never seen one item so prevalent in my whole life.

OP posts:
ThePriceIsWright · 20/02/2024 09:27

Comfiest pair of trainers I've ever owned. Didn't realise they were so "prevalent", not that I'd care anyway. I like them and that's it.

NerrSnerr · 20/02/2024 09:29

Does it matter though? Loads of clothes are worn by many people. Like jeans fashion etc.

Just wear what makes you happy and be happy if others feel the same about what they wear.

Thelightis · 20/02/2024 09:30

They're just footwear it's not that deep

GalileoHumpkins · 20/02/2024 09:31

I would say black leggings are much more prevalent and unimaginative but loads of people wear them.

35965a · 20/02/2024 09:32

People like them so who cares if it’s unimaginative? People see others wear them and think ‘oh they look comfy’ and buy them.

Shopper727 · 20/02/2024 09:33

Terribly darling how horrendous that lot of people like the same shoe, long as you don’t wear them that’s no problem is it really, is wearing them in other colours acceptable?

TinyGingerCat · 20/02/2024 09:33

Tell us what you wear and we'll let you know if you pass muster

BillStickersWillBeProsocuted · 20/02/2024 09:39

I'm not sure I've ever worn an imaginative pair of shoes

WandaWonder · 20/02/2024 09:40

OK and?

Why on earth does it matter?

TheFlis · 20/02/2024 09:42

I think you’ll find the black and white ones are referred to as Panda Dunks 🐼

BlackberrySky · 20/02/2024 09:43

What's wrong with following the herd? Not everyone is interested in fashion and they're happy to just get what others are buying. Who cares?

SwingTheMonkey · 20/02/2024 09:44

If I liked a shoe, I wouldn’t give a fuck how many other people were wearing them.

Crabwoman · 20/02/2024 09:48

No more than AF1 a few years ago.

I was sitting in a city centre a few years ago and I reckon about 20% of the population was wearing them.

I have a large trainer collection, but i still like and still wear both fwiw. To echo a pp It's not that deep.

BoohooWoohoo · 20/02/2024 09:48

I looked up what you mean and they are called Pandas. I saw them most around 12-18 months ago on teenagers.

BarbieDangerous · 20/02/2024 09:50

Never come across AF1s then? It’s a basic trainer which goes with just about everything in your wardrobe. Same with Panda Dunks. Let people wear what they want

KimberleyClark · 20/02/2024 09:52

I would say that not following the herd is by definition not being interested in fashion.

Dweetfidilove · 20/02/2024 09:53

Throw out leggings while you’re at it! Nothing is more‘prevalent’.

Catza · 20/02/2024 09:53

I have a pair in white and cream. Would you say I was more imaginative?
I doubt I care either way. My mental budget does not allow for worrying about what others think of my footwear choices.

Fionaville · 20/02/2024 09:59

They are just trainers and are pretty standard. I was a teenager in the 90s, I've seen much more prevalent trainer and footwear trends. These look better and more comfortable than the Converse pump trend, that was a hard look to get behind.

SpeculatingRooks · 20/02/2024 10:01

Personally I just wear two large carrots on my feet like that fairy king from Ben and Holly. It's fashion darling and sets me apart from lesser mortals

AngelsWithSilverWings · 20/02/2024 10:09

I have a pair thanks to my DC deciding my various adidas court trainers ( which I still love as they are so comfortable ) were too uncool.

They bought me a pair for my birthday last year. I wasn't keen at first but they do at least look ok with my black jeans. Since then DS18 has bought himself a pair in exactly the same style and now his new girlfriend turns up wearing hers so we then have a litre collection of them in the hall.

I'm 54 years old and did wonder if I look a bit ridiculous in them and they aren't quite as good for long walks as my adidas ones.

DappledThings · 20/02/2024 10:15

No idea what they look like and never notice what anyone is wearing on their feet unless it's really outlandish or high heels.

bizzyloop · 20/02/2024 10:27

Sorry Op I could not disagree with you more. I have a lovley collection of nike trainers (around 50 pairs) in display cases all different colours and the black and white dunkems look lovley. 🙄

audihere · 20/02/2024 10:28

yeah, we do a Panda count whenever we go out 🤣 but then we both love trainers, so it's a bit of an obsession of ours

Bananasandtoast · 20/02/2024 10:30

I got silver and white Dunks for Christmas and my friends actually congratulated me on having a colour combo they'd never seen before 😁
Panda's are smart AF though so 🤷🏻‍♀️
