To ask you to diagnose me?

Psm92 · 13/02/2024 09:09

For the past 3 days, upon waking up, all the way down my inner right thigh there's a soreness/tightness. Like the muscle feels really sore to touch. But the skin looks normal. It goes away a few hours after being up. But then I go to bed and the next morning it's the same?

Maybe I'm sleeping in a weird position or something? But nothing has changed with the way I sleep? And it's exactly the same place that's sore in the morning? But it goes away after I'm up? Help!

YABU to ask for a diagnosis in a talk forum

This sounds like a fairly minor issue anyway that you could try self care for, but if it develops into anything more or persists you could send a non urgent request to your GP.

You could just be sleeping weird. I often wake up with cramp in my left calf and have always been mystified as to why. My husband recently showed me a picture of me sleeping flat on my stomach with my left leg up like a periscope. Apparently I frequently sleep like this. Cramp mystery solved.

i thought i recognised your username op

You post a lot about your health and concerns you have about it. Have you ever considered seeking support for health anxiety?

Veronicaisaflower · 13/02/2024 15:54

What are you worried about exactly?

YourSpleenIsDamp · 13/02/2024 16:03

Try stretching it

Teawithchocolate · 13/02/2024 16:05

A pulled muscle

Fionaville · 13/02/2024 16:08

Could it be that you are doing something differently in the day that is pulling the muscle? Even sitting differently in a chair. It would fit in with the timeline.
If it was anything major, I wouldn't expect it to come and go like that. It does sound muscle related.

whathappenedno · 13/02/2024 16:09

Muscle strain?

theeyeshaveit82 · 13/02/2024 16:09

Veronicaisaflower · 13/02/2024 15:54

a lot of things

theeyeshaveit82 · 13/02/2024 16:10

according to other threads

ginasevern · 13/02/2024 16:39

Have you bought any new shoes recently or wearing ones you don't usually wear? This can "pull" muscles in strange places.

Psm92 · 13/02/2024 16:58

@theeyeshaveit82 Um, yes, I do post here when I have health concerns. I've developed quite a few serious health issues since the pandemic, so I do get anxious when I experience a symptom unrelated to my actual illness, as I don't want to have to deal with additional problems on top of what I already have. Having health issues just means you're more likely to post about health issues, surely, as opposed to meaning it's just "anxiety"?

@theeyeshaveit82 But ummmmm thanks for shaming me out outing me or whatever

@Psm92 if I were you I would find a sports massage therapist. Could be the way you stand/walk doesn’t elongate one side of your body as much and the muscle is shortening. So you could just need a good old hard massage !

neither

JMSA · 13/02/2024 17:23

Hmm, I sometimes get similar when I'm particularly dehydrated. I don't drink nearly enough water Blush
Could it be that?

Edited

But you said you had health anxiety on a post you made about dropping hot tea on your legs.

  • · 04/10/2022 23:45 Thanks all - appreciate the advice and am feeling somewhat reassured. Off to bed now and will reassess in the morning but hopefully should be fine. I know it doesn't sound super dramatic but I do struggle with health anxiety*

Given your many posts about various aspects of your health, you really do have a problem. Health anxiety can be all-consuming. We all have minor things happen to us every week and to catastrophise like you are doing must be really exhausting. Please please and get some psychological help. You are so young and can’t live your life this way.

Your leg condition does not sound like anything serious though.

theeyeshaveit82 · 14/02/2024 06:49

You have been very defensive on this thread but very open about your health anxiety on other threads

it is relevant to this thread despite your irritation that i mentioned

my suggestion? seek some support for what seems to be an intensifying health anxiety

BLT2024 · 14/02/2024 08:59

Or post under another user name OP

Tiggermom · 14/02/2024 09:13

Try pillow between legs. Try some sort of support for back - maybe you lie twisted.
