Or is there a serious lack of full fat crème fraiche in the shops

WTAF? Since last weekend I’ve been in various different shops (M&S, WR and Co-op) and there is only half fat crème fraiche in all - no full fat.

is there a national shortage or something?!

what bloody use is the half fat stuff?!

No help for you but commiseration. I got tired of looking for real ice cream without all of the additives to make it softer that I broke down and bought an ice cream maker for the 1 time a year I crave ice cream. Don’t get started on the low fat abominations.

Aldi is a small shop that generally has the full fat version

Aldi's is awful. Really lumpy.

That Isigny St Mere stuff pictured upthread is THE BOMB

It’s about twice as thick as other full fat creme fraiche. You can stand your spoon up in it. Honestly it’s bloody amazing. I have no idea of the fat % and I don’t want to know.

And yes it is amazing in fajitas, burritos, in soup, with a slice of cake or a fruit tart, in an omelette, a savoury pancake, or just on its own…

The only thing it doesn’t go in is carbonara, you heathen 😆 that’s egg only

Ha ha, I am definitely a heathen! But honestly, it does work.

Even though Stanley Tucci would take me out and shoot me for saying so
