I bought a t shirt worth 3£ and paid postage 3£ from vinted , sender said she sent it next day with evri and I got the the tracking number . It’s been stuck in transit for 3 weeks now , 2 weeks ago I got a fee to pay card , saying sender didn’t pay enough postage . I have to pay 7£ more to get it delivered ! Is this fair ? Can I refuse it and they will send it back to her or will I still have to pay for it for sending it back to sender ? Thanks for any advice

You can absolutely ask to see the parcel before paying and then decide to decline it, it will then get returned to sender. My guess is that it's the vinted item that has somehow ended up in the Royal Mail network hence the fee to pay card. I've seen it before many times.

@zingally yes my sorting office said there was a big problem with counterfeit stamps - apparently also some are sold through corner shops.

He did also mention the £5 fee for a card was astronomical and it was the post office trying to claw back money......

did you go to the sorting office @Ilovebees

The royal mail thing is a separate parcel.

If you have received tracking through Evri, it has been sent via evri. I have had things get stuck in a loop with evri before, but they have eventually been received.

I've just had this! I dropped an Evri parcel off at the post office and the staff member put it in the RM bag for delivery, not the Evri one.

I've had the devil's job to be reimbursed for the £7 as well. What a pain.

I wonder if the same happened with you? Did you drop off the parcel at a post office??

hellsBells246 · 11/01/2024 11:02

Sorry, I meant, I wonder if the seller dropped their parcel off at a PO? Can you message them and ask?

My daughter had the grey rm card.

Her bank was emptied after she paid the outstanding postage fees ☹️

But how did she pay? How does she know the two are connected? If she went into a PO and paid the fee, there is no way that the PO would then have emptied her account. Sounds like a coincidence.

That’s what I said. But poster just dropped her conspiracy theory and ran, never came back with any more info.

If you have an Evri tracking number then it hasn't been sent with Royal Mail. The card is either for a different parcel that's been sent via Royal Mail or possibly a scam.

No. The parcel will have been put on the Evri v be at in the pet office by a staff member. I've just had the same happen. RM delivered it but asked for £7 for underpaid postage first. Because I had paid Evri to post it...

@Poppyseed14 the Royal Mail fee to pay card was through the letterbox but I have absolutely ordered nothing . Maybe someone sent me a gift without me knowing ? But why didn’t they pay enough postage ? I don’t know , I’m a bit scared to pay it online maybe it’s a scam ?

Whatever you do don’t pay it online. It could well be a scam.
