I bought a t shirt worth 3£ and paid postage 3£ from vinted , sender said she sent it next day with evri and I got the the tracking number . It’s been stuck in transit for 3 weeks now , 2 weeks ago I got a fee to pay card , saying sender didn’t pay enough postage . I have to pay 7£ more to get it delivered ! Is this fair ? Can I refuse it and they will send it back to her or will I still have to pay for it for sending it back to sender ? Thanks for any advice

Didn't Royal Mail and Evri have something in the news not that long ago about them merging...

Ilovebees · 08/01/2024 13:22

No, they didn't.
All that's happened remotely similar is that Post Office and Evri teamed up to allow Evri parcels to be sent via the Post Office - but they'll no nowhere near Royal Mail.

ditalini · 08/01/2024 13:24

I've got an ASOS parcel lost somewhere with that same tracking info (coincidentally also 19/12).

ASOS refunded me when I chased it but the tracking is still showing the same.

Presumably EVRI lost a certain percentage of parcels in the Christmas rush and haven't written them off yet.

@Poppyseed14 the Royal Mail fee to pay card was through the letterbox but I have absolutely ordered nothing . Maybe someone sent me a gift without me knowing ? But why didn’t they pay enough postage ? I don’t know , I’m a bit scared to pay it online maybe it’s a scam ?

Could be a gift from someone and they bought insufficient postage online and chucked the parcel in a parcel post box? Then it got picked up at the sorting office. I know what you mean though. So I'd go to the sorting office to collect it rather than putting details online x

VainAbigail · 08/01/2024 13:24

Im now wondering if the fee is a customs fee that wasn’t paid by the seller.

GinBlossom94 · 08/01/2024 13:24

Evri have lost it, your seller needs to raise a claim with them, you won't be getting T-shirt

Falkenburg · 08/01/2024 13:26

I sometimes find that global tracking give more info than Evri/Yodel/DPD/RM etc

The Royal Mail thing is unconnected. It's a scam. I've had one before. They're banking on the fact that lots of people will be waiting for parcels. If you go to the link (which I don't advise!), it's quite likely your computer or phone will flag it up as a phishing/unsafe link.

YouveGotAFastCar · 08/01/2024 13:26

I’d bet that someone has used an expired stamp without a bar code on it, which are no longer usable.

Poppyseed14 · 08/01/2024 13:27

You will have to let us know what it is in the Royal mail one OP as I'm invested now!

Re vinted, they will refund you. It might well still turn up. I sold something with them a while ago and it was in transit for weeks. I was on tenterhooks even though I was the seller as I knew the lady really wanted the item. It finally turned up and I was amazed beyond belief. No idea where it had been! 🤣

Ilovebees · 08/01/2024 13:28

Thank you everyone so much for your advice ! I will go to sorting office soon and find out what it is :) and I never thought that the vinted parcel can’t be connected to the Royal Mail fee card so thank you for helping me point it out . I appreciate you all replying @😘

Rather than go to any link printed on the card, go to this page and type in the reference on the card.

if it’s not a genuine RM one it won’t be recognised.
Royal Mail pay online

Ilovebees · 08/01/2024 13:31

@Poppyseed14 yes I will let you all know when I get the Royal Mail parcel :) and vinted is giving me until 10 jan to report as missing so I’m scared that if I don’t mark it as lost before then , then I’ll lose the money and maybe the parcel will never show up 😂I know it’s only 6£ but still hehe

@KingsleyBorder hey , there is no reference number on the pay to fee card :)

OP posts:
whynotwhatknot · 08/01/2024 13:38

mark the evri item as not arrive dont wait-they'll refund you

the rm card sounds like something separate

KingsleyBorder · 08/01/2024 13:43

Yes, I took a look at the Royal Mail link and saw that it doesn’t ask for a reference. It asks for your name and address though- put those in. You can’t be scammed by putting your details into the genuine RM website and it will just come back as not recognised if it is not a genuine RM card you have received.

Fluffywhitecloudsinthesky · 08/01/2024 13:43

Take the Royal Mail card to the sorting office and get the parcel if there is one.

Don't click any dodgy links to pay the money online, I did this as I was waiting for the exact same carrier, and I was scammed out of thousands of pounds although my bank did refund in full on that occasion (and many won't).

Fluffywhitecloudsinthesky · 08/01/2024 13:44

I agree it's fine to use the Royal Mail website to check the item against your address. Don't use another external website, that would be a scam.

She can’t click any dodgy link to pay online, it’s a physical card she’s received! She’d have to type in the dodgy address character by character.

TravelInHope · 08/01/2024 13:45

It’s a scam.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 08/01/2024 13:46

Mark it as not received and they will refund, although they will tell you to wait until the 10th
My guess is Evri have lost the parcel
I had one marked as destroyed beyond repair and by Evri and Vinted refunded immediately.
I certainly wouldn't pay the £7 to RM if you're not expecting anything, but that's just me

KingsleyBorder · 08/01/2024 13:47

PS OP you can check if the card is genuine by seeing if it is recognised by RM but you don’t need to actually make the payment online, you can just close the website after seeing confirmation that there is a parcel logged in the RM system in your name as awaiting payment.

Namerequired · 08/01/2024 13:49

Your evri parcel has been lost by the looks of it. It’s happened me a couple of times. Message the seller and maybe mark as undelivered. Don’t leave it past the date.
The Royal Mail is separate most likely and if not don’t pay it. But it seems you are going to sort that one.
