She’s just so gorgeous! Want to look like her.

Really enjoying her new series on Netflix, love every outfit (aside from a shiny puffy jacket maybe)

She’s a Northerner too, so extra points 😂

I thought she was younger than she is though

Of course she hasn’t had a tummy tuck! She’s very into wellness and exercise and hasn’t had children.

Some far fetched nonsense on this thread.

lolacherricoke · 05/01/2024 07:26

Oh behave people! We would all love to look as gorgeous as her and most of us would love the money to have the surgery she has had (if any). Haters gonna hate, but is that just the green eye! She is gorgeous and talented! Let's all be kind

Nonomono · 05/01/2024 07:26

I didn’t realise she had had so much work done, that’s such a shame.

The reason why I thought she was stunning before was because she was obviously attractive but in a very natural way.

Now she just looks like every other celeb who’ve had work done, still very stunning but all trying to get that Kim Kardashian appearance (who I think is gorgeous) but there’s nothing natural or unique about them.

Shakespearesister · 05/01/2024 07:27

WhatdoIdoTree · 04/01/2024 23:10

@Inmecomfiesnow the very real intention of this thread is for people to come on and comment on Michelle’s looks. It’s what you’re doing, it wasn’t your intention to set up this thread to talk about her acting.

Poor taste, no one knows Michelle. You’re all commenting on her looks, what she’s had done etc. I just don’t like it. Leave her alone.

Couldn’t agree more.
Shame on anyone who has posted negatively about someone’s appearance or criticising her acting ability. Too many people who get some kind of enjoyment out of dragging other women down.

PastTheGin · 05/01/2024 07:35

Very amusing thread if you, like me, confuse Michelle with Gillian Keegan 🤣

Wintersgirl · 05/01/2024 08:48

Look at a talented actress like Jodie Comer. That's a talented actress. All the different accents she has done, different roles, etc.

Yes Jodie Comer is an amazing actress, very taltented. Michelle Keegan has the same monotone voice in everything she does....

Fullofthejoysofspring · 05/01/2024 08:53

This is such a depressing thread.

Can't we just collectively agree that she's done very well? Who cares what she looks like or who she's married to, she's a woman making a success of her life without harming anyone or killing kittens along the way.

I absolutely hate this rhetoric that if you don't like something, you're secretly jealous of it. It's just a lowest common denominator response when someone has a critical opinion on something that other people think is great.

I think she looks lovely, in the same way that anyone who had ordered a perfectly structured and proportioned series of treatments may do, but, to me, it's like a mask and leaves me feeling cold. How can anyone possibly make a definitive statement that anyone who goes against the status quo is motivated by jealousy?

I do not want to look like her as I am happy with my own face. I have enough money for amendments and really don't want any.

whirlingdevonish · 05/01/2024 08:59

I agree @Everthenever . if people were criticising her natural born face it would be properly vile. But that's not what's happening. In fact very few are being critical anyway - just noting what has (obviously) been done. And I don't think MK would have had the work done in the way she has if she hadn't wanted to look noticeably different

LightDrizzle · 05/01/2024 09:00

I think the reason there are a lot of comments, mine included, is that in her OP, @Inmecomfiesnow expressed the desire to look like someone, who when googled, has had a huge amount of cosmetic work done to the extent she no longer looks like her younger, also very pretty, self. The OP thinks she is gorgeous and an ideal type of beauty. Other people came on to say she looks so natural etc… and for someone like me who has heard the name but hasn’t seen anything she is in, it really brings home just how our ideas of beauty have been distorted by SM and celebrity culture. Yes she is beautiful, but in that slightly strange overworked way. She has an amazing physique.

If OP had commented on her acting, the comments would have mostly been about that. This is a thread started all about the looks of someone famous who felt the need to make significant, painful interventions to conform to the new rich-face norm, becoming unrecognisable in the process. If young women regard her as a role model and beauty ideal, it’s no wonder so many are begging their parents for “work” before they are out of their teens, and I’m not talking about what might be classed as corrective surgery or dental work. I’m the age of such parents and so many friends’ teenage girls say they want cosmetic surgery and fillers as soon as they can.

I know I sound like an old bat but it’s very discouraging to someone like me and I feel sorry for our girls. Doubtless girls who would have been considered perfectly presentable when I was at school would be “minging” now, putting aside the fashions and perms of the day and just taking them with their varying faces and physiques. I’m not sure any out of my year of 300 (so around 150 girls) would now be considered really gorgeous now by this measure. Some would be close, but need some “work” and a ferocious gym and weights routine to pass muster.

balou85 · 05/01/2024 09:12

she's a good actress and very beautiful, whether that's via surgery or whatever. I'd love to follow her around for
a few days and see what she eats cos she's so teeny tiny. I wonder if it's the fish and grilled vegetable routine that Posh Spice follows?

blackpanth · 05/01/2024 09:18

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 05/01/2024 03:25

blackpanth most posters aren’t being nasty and jealous. They just don’t agree.
I have an opinion on MKs acting skills based on watching her in various things.
I have an opinion on the way MKs looks/looked based on my perception of beauty.
I don’t think MK is anything special to look at compared to the women I see or have seen in my life or on screen.
I think Natalie Anderson who plays MKs sister in Fool me once is beautiful. She glows when on screen, has beautiful skin and hair and has a naturally very very pretty face. I think the two as sisters worked with Clare as the pretty sister who married young and Maya as the plainer more feisty sister who focused on her career initially.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Not everyone is a nasty or jealous person. You need to accept that people can think and say what they want on here as long as they aren’t abusive.

If you say say. But I disagree

we're not allowed criticise acting ability either?

Doe this apply to everyone in the acting profession? We have to pretend that the lovely Keanu Reeves, for example, is a great actor?

Wintersgirl · 05/01/2024 09:22

she's a good actress

She really isn't, her voice doesn't alter in any role she's played. Jodie Comer on the other hand...

Delatron · 05/01/2024 09:52

LightDrizzle · 04/01/2024 23:48

“Probably” had her lips done? Looks natural? This thread demonstrates how the very “done” face is becoming normalised.

Yes it’s such a worry that people think this look is normal and natural. How on earth can’t people see the difference in her lips for a start (along with the rest).

No hate here on her. But I don’t like the normalisation of lip fillers.

SemperIdem · 05/01/2024 10:03

I think it’s a bit unfair to compare Michelle, who is a perfectly adequate tv actress, with Jodie Comer, who is an extraordinary talent.

That’s like comparing the woman who plays Audrey on Coronation Street to Jude Dench.

betumble · 05/01/2024 10:18

I think her lips look so bad because, in the first place, her lip shape isn't ideal for lip filler and she's had too much in the top lip. The above lip/ridge sits weirdly too. The jaw filler, giving a squarer shape to her face is not great either.

Accusations of jealousy are odd and I would not like to look like her at all. She looks the same as many people you see around who have had far too much filler and botox.

Delatron · 05/01/2024 10:29

I think it’s also a good discussion to have around the normalisation of lip filler. It is quite shocking to see people saying her lips look good or that ‘maybe she’s had a bit of lip filler’.

I am really hoping there will be some sort of backlash against over the top lip fillers soon. It’s so sad when you see young girls ruining their perfectly lovey lips and making them look like a pair of slugs. It’s an important discussion to have.

Also I feel that if you’re a serious actress you need to be able to show emotion and move your face. Not specifically criticising Michelle here as I haven’t watched the programme so not sure about the levels of Botox.

whirlingdevonish · 05/01/2024 10:34

I think in certain parts of the country lip fillers are more normal. I was in selfridges in London just before Xmas with my grown up son. We both remarked that I was in a ti t minority among customers if not having had lips done. And we're talking all levels - from the frankly ridiculous down ti what would probably be regarded as subtle. It's that top lip 'ledge' that's the giveaway. All over the place it was!
I suspect this might be the case too in certain areas of the NW.

KimberleyClark · 05/01/2024 10:45

I don’t think MK is half the actress that Suranne Jones is. I remember watching SJ in Corrie back when it was good, she was trying to cook a romantic dinner for Steve McD it was just a brilliant piece of comedic skill. I remember thinking ‘this girl is going places”. I wish she’d explore comedic roles more.

An absolutely stunning, very young, work colleague had lip fillers a few weeks ago. She really had no reason to, she was so fresh and gorgeous looking. She was really pleased with them but they made her look so different and were really noticeable. Then another very young colleague joined in and said how much he wanted fillers, botox and a nose job. It broke my heart a little bit. When I was their age, any kind of plastic surgery or tweakments wouldn't have been on my radar. But it's so normalised now that people in their early twenties think nothing of altering themselves in a way that seems to want to emultae a very narrow standard of beauty - for men and women.

Newgreendress · 05/01/2024 11:31

It's funny how some actors/actresses do every possible procedure to remove any unique feature and to look like mass market Barbie, then people say 'She is overlooked as an actress because of her beauty'. She is an okay actress, but not hugely talented, and probably gets parts due to connections, which mentioned be pp.
PS: I was wondering if people overly praising MK, are her friends/PR team, as they seem to think people who doesn't appreciate all the plastic surgery beauties are mean to MK (how do they know she even reads this tread?), but find it perfectly okay to call nasty names posters who simply disagree with them and have different tastes, and are more likely than MK, to read them. Pot and kettle
