She’s just so gorgeous! Want to look like her.

Really enjoying her new series on Netflix, love every outfit (aside from a shiny puffy jacket maybe)

She’s a Northerner too, so extra points 😂

I thought she was younger than she is though

She’s already aged herself up about 8 years with it all, gone is the last residual dewy fresh face she should be experiencing before she hits her forties and pumped with chemicals and poison she is

This. I am nowhere near as attractive as she is. Never have been. But I looked younger at 36 than she does. All these "tweeks" seem to destroy the "freshness" and make women look older than they are. Women of 25 look 30+ and so on. I am often surprised to find out certain celebs are much younger than I thought they were. They might look a "good" version of that age (opinion varies) but they don't look youthful.

Snuggleyou · 06/01/2024 17:40

No jealousy on my part, I have no desire to look like Michelle. She was pretty before but looked like she’d been hitting the filler between fool me once and Graham Norton last night, back to looking like a plastic doll. I’d much prefer to look like Emilia Clarke or someone like that, she’s really natural and a better calibre of acting range in my opinion.

squigglygiggly · 06/01/2024 17:43

I will say, in this picture she looks more natural that I've seen her in years.
I think a lot of the perfect photos are so heavily filtered that she looks worse than irl
Here she's massively reduced the lip fillers and the filtering/photoshopping is minimal
Compared to the over filled and heavily filtered picture you can see how different she looks. One looks human. The other looks like AI

Slightly worryingly she may have had buccal fat removal which ages someone instantly and will be very aging by 40+. People need to think hard before doing irreversible things.

You are ‘allowed’ to criticise anyone you want online, that doesn’t mean you should.
Are you a professionally trained actor yourself?

I just find it sad and quite upsetting that the world we live in has somehow made it socially acceptable to be negative and critical about others online. Particularly famous people. These same people would perhaps simply be meek and polite if they met the said celebrity in person, but only too happy to judge and critique their appearance/talent/ability when hiding behind a computer screen.
I know people are perfectly entitled to their opinions and ‘freedom of speech’ and all that, but I think it’s awful.

Why would one need to be a professionally trained actor in order to have an opinion on whether an actor is poor/okay/great in their field? Bizarre.

No, I'm not going to shout out to Michelle Keegan in the street 'Oi, Michelle, I think your acting is okay but not outstanding'. Because that would be a little strange. Similarly I wouldn't shout out to Ed Sheeran 'your music is massively overrated middle of the road dross'. And yet I'm cruel enough to type it here. Shocking.

We have opinions. All of us. And me typing on Mumsnet that I think Keanu is a poor actor and Keegan an okay actor is perfectly acceptable behaviour.

You're entitled to think that's simply 'awful' and I'm entitled to roll my eyes at your nonsense.

I agree the photo on the right doesn’t look like her at all. That one is heavily photoshopped I think. I saw her on this morning the other day and thought she looked great

Agree on the Ed Sheeran comment 😂

TheAverageJoanne · 06/01/2024 19:43

This makes her look average normal.

99% of the comments on here are horrid and due to jealousy no doubt.

Do you people not realise that this is WHY celebrities have work done. Look at Charlotte Crosby...horrible comments about her looks (she was lovely!) So she had work done, more horrible comments so she had more work done etc etc.

Also those before/after photos you aren't taking into consideration camera angle or the way make up has evolved. ANYONE can make their nose look a different shape just by doing a you tube tutorial or two. But no, she MUST have had surgery.and even if she has she looks amazing.

This thread is mumsnet (and women actually) at their very worst.

betumble · 06/01/2024 21:01

I don't think people mentioning their dislike of the surgical and aesthetic work she's done are jealous. I'm definitely not completely anti botox etc, but I prefer a subtle look. MK's look is not subtle and not something I'd like to emulate.

Ok. But she's definitely had her nose done and only a blind man would say otherwise

100%

JMSA · 06/01/2024 22:19

I think she's lovely. Not all beauty has to be natural, all of the time. There are different forms of it.
I personally wouldn't have put Marilyn Monroe or Dolly Parton down as natural beauties. Like most of us, just making the best of what they've got!

Namechange4448830938489 · 06/01/2024 23:34

Just started to watch this new show and yes the camera shows that she has wrinkles on her forehead when required. The photos of her in the show demonstrate how photogenic she is and I guess how many filters are used. She looks tall and has a marvellous slim frame. Acting wise ? Not as great as many other female actors on the British scene.

Snuggleyou · 06/01/2024 23:46

No it’s not why they have work done at all, Vicky Pattinson came out and said all the reality tv people get offered work done for free or at knock down price. I guess some are too insecure or vain to say no. You can’t blame a bunch of women on mums net for these fools butchering themselves. Hating how plastic women getting shoved in our faces like it’s the norm has nothing to do with jealousy either. I will praise a naturally beautiful woman till the cows come home. I don’t think some people can get their head around the fact that because you’re not following the brainwashed sheep your not jealous, it’s bizarre.

Sleepydoor · 06/01/2024 23:51

I think it's okay if some of the characters on my tv shows look like how some people in society actually look and not just how I think people should look. I don't expect the main protagonist to fit my platonic ideal of womanhood and only allow other characters to look different if they are caricatures. But we're all different I guess.

Completely agree with this. I do wish that they'd stop showing people on TV (men included) who have had work done as it's horrible trying to normalise it and encouraging young vulnerable individuals that they need to follow suit.

Namechange4448830938489 · 07/01/2024 08:46

Then these reality tv women have children who look nothing like them but remind you of how the Mum used to look. There is one very obvious example of this!

newstart24 · 08/01/2024 12:48

Michelle Keegan is absolutely stunning IMO - it’s funny as her mum and dad are just normal looking people. It’s the same with Meghan Markle - her mum and dad are also average looking folk, but she’s drop-dead gorgeous. It’s funny how the gene pool works!

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 08/01/2024 14:39

MK would also be normal looking if she hadn’t had all the tweaks and enhancements.
MMs mum is a pretty lady.

Namechange4448830938489 · 08/01/2024 14:46

Well they both have had nose jobs - MM and MK. That always helps.

Mikimoto · 08/01/2024 14:48

Much more surgery and they'll end up looking like Kevin Keegan.

I'm obviously biased Grin but my teenage DS is absolutely beautiful and has decidedly average parents! I have no idea how our very normal slightly wonky faces morphed together to create such an objectively stunning boy. So it happens!

peakygold · 08/01/2024 15:30

She needs to trade her plastic surgeon for an acting coach; plays the same part in every role.

Namechange4448830938489 · 08/01/2024 15:33

I have to say @peakygold I thought I was watching Our Girl in the latest.
