What I have done today that has annoyed my kids

Just turned 3 year old:

  • Her toast was too toasted
  • She had to take her pjs off
  • Our session at soft play came to an end
  • I made her tuna rolls for lunch after she asked for tuna rolls
  • Her bread was not the same shape as her sisters (after I changed her lunch to the tomato soup she wanted)
  • She didn’t get new school shoes (she doesn’t go to school!)
  • I didn’t need help in the toilet
  • Her carrots are long sticks and not small circles

4 year old:

  • She had to brush her teeth
  • Leggings are rubbish
  • Our session at soft play came to an end
  • She hates Tuna (I wasn’t making her any!)
  • Her sister tried her tomato soup
  • She couldn’t wear her new school shoes
  • She couldn’t go to the park (it’s been raining all day!)
  • She took her socks and t-shirt off and was then cold.

Clearly IABU and need to give up on this mum shite. But has anyone else performed as badly as me today?

4 year old: insisted he wore his seat belt which he found annoying.

Christmastreestillinonepiece · 02/01/2024 18:09

Dared to suggest I finish my coffee in the cafe when ds9 wanted to get home to his gaming... Did threaten to stamp my feet next footy game on the sidelines and say I want to go home...

Royalbloo · 02/01/2024 20:22

I took mine to the zoo in the rain and they complained it was raining. Then we went into the butterfly house to get warm and it was too hot....

Royalbloo · 02/01/2024 20:23

Oh and demanded she go in the swings and then moaned she had a wet bum after I warned her she would get her bum wet...

3 year old here.

Made her wear her wellies rather than slippers to go to nursery, raining cats and dogs at the time.

Bought her a jam sandwich to eat on the way home from nursery, which she ate all of.

Gave her the choice of playing with her marbles or watching something on the iPad after nursery, she choose marbles, but then had a tantrum at the lack of iPad.

Insisted she (I) brushed her teeth and she went to the toilet before bed. This is a daily one. “Mummy, I don’t need a wee”, pause for 5 seconds, “Mummy, I’m doing a wee, can you hear”. 🤦‍♀️

My 3 year old wanted to go and splash in puddles, then complained the puddles were too wet and cold, wanted pasta bake for tea of which I made and he then complained about pasta being in it he just wanted the cheese, then I made his bath too bubbly, put his milk in the wrong cup and he didn't want white milk, its been a long day. 😩

GoodnightJude1 · 02/01/2024 21:08

My DD15 doesn’t like our toilet roll….apparently ‘Daisy’s mum gets the ones with the dogs on and it’s so much softer” 🙄

I’ve let Daisy’s mum know that DD will be moving in with them shortly 😀

There used to be a great website (although it sounds really cruel when you describe it) called 'why is my toddler crying today' complete with pictures of melt down having children and a description of why (the one that sticks in my head is 'wouldnt let him drown himself in the duck pond'). It was hilarious, although somewhat problematic. But it certainly got me through some tough days.

DontGoGran · 02/01/2024 21:17

2.5 here:

  • I wouldn't let her wrap a phone charger round her neck like a scarf
  • I told her she could only have two chocolates
  • I had to put her on the floor after she jumped on my (very pregnant) tummy
  • She had to stop pretending to be in a tunnel so she could go to bed
MadCatLady27 · 02/01/2024 21:32

These are brilliant 😂😂

maimeo · 02/01/2024 21:51

Chortling here. As a child I minded many years ago used to say "they're rigiculous"!!

marrybarry · 02/01/2024 22:08

4 year old:

Gave her the wrong umbrella
Didn't bring snacks to school pick up
Annas dress looked bad on Chelsea
The chair was dirty with pen marks that she did
The Barbie dress with stars on looked bad on Barbie
Orange squash instead of Ribena

I was apparently unreasonable just now for not letting DD15 go on the trampoline in the dark/wet. I was worried she might blow away in it.

Nellieinthebarn · 02/01/2024 22:21

Dear Grandchild didn't want egg sandwich so had a tuna one. Complained that her sandwich wasn't the same as Grandads.

DGC cried because Grandad unreasonably ate his sandwich and didn't share with the dog, dog was also disappointed.

DGC angry with me because she couldn't take the dog for a walk in the middle of storm Henk. Dog also disappointed until he had to go out for a wee, then much more understanding.

DGC cross with Barbie that lives at Nanny's house for not having knees that bend or her red boots, that DGC took home last time she came to visit with Nanny and Grandad.

We've only been up for an hour and 20 mo so far has been annoyed with me for;

  • Bringing her downstairs when she asked to go downstairs
  • Gave her the milk she asked for
  • Read her the book she brought me while saying 'mummy read'

I can tell it's going to be one of those days 😂 although we have a soft play party at 10, hoping that will take all her energy, she'll have a decent nap and maybe I won't be so annoying after 😂

Gabby10 · 03/01/2024 07:36

Oh and now I'm a naughty mummy because I've said we can't walk to the shop for a 'yoyyie' (choc lolly) yet. It's 7:30, dark and she's scared of the dark. So naughty 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 03/01/2024 07:57

Mines 11 but GDD, autism, Adhd- he's mad i was already awake at 6 am putting a load of washing on as he wanted to wake me up.
Hes cross with me for having already made him porridge- don't get me wrong, he wanted porridge and banana, but how dare I just assume.
He wanted my cup of tea, in my mug that I hadn't even made yet. (It is a very nice mug, enamelled and covered in trains)
He wanted thunderbirds are go! On, he had the remote, he just had to click play, it was right there and I was busy in the kitchen.
He wants to wear the sonic the hedgehog tshirt that he just spotted in the ironing pile, it's his brothers tshirt and it won't fit him, but that's not the point! I'v an eternal toddler!

Peccary · 03/01/2024 07:57

Not me but the very unreasonable cat "made" DD6 drop her toast by just walking into the room. There were real tears over this (she is very tired this morning)

NightisdarkandfullofterrorsGOT · 03/01/2024 08:01

Generally I’m in trouble with teen for breathing too loudly, sneezing, yawning too loudly, not shutting door properly….

SgtJuneAckland · 03/01/2024 08:04

(ds5) Cooking green beans with dinner last night because he'd specifically asked for them, then asking him to eat at least a couple, then for making delicious green beans so he'd eaten them all, then for asking why that was a problem 🤷‍♀️

CeratopsofthePharoahs · 03/01/2024 08:05

Reminds me of when my eldest was two and had the biggest meltdown of his life because I gave him his yoghurt pot with the spoon already in it. So I took the spoon out and that made it somehow worse. He didn't want the yoghurt so I took it away and that was worse so I brought it back and that was even worse....
Now it's sulking fits because he forgot to put his phone on charge overnight and that's somehow everyone else's fault for not reminding him.

friskybivalves · 03/01/2024 08:22

IABU yesterday for:

Waking DD15 for the day at 3pm with a cup of tea as I should have realised it was hot chocolate o'clock.

Washing the coloureds, not the whites.

Suggesting she didn't go for a walk across a ploughed field in her new white trainers

Suggesting she go on a walk at all

Speaking

Breathing
