AIBU to excitedly break 4 years of lurking because DH saw an inflatable dinosaur in use tonight?

He'd been telling me about seeing the same reindeer in lights set of decorations in multiple houses on his way home.

So I said "At least they weren't inflatable dinosaurs" and started to tell him the story only for his face to light up telling me oh yes he had seen that too and taken a while to work out what was Christmassy about it.

I love dinosaurs! We have a giant inflatable Santa Homer Simpson on a house near us. We look forward to seeing it every year. They normally put it up the week before Xmas so it’s not up yet.

Oh no I don't want one... it was having enjoyed the thread on here about them. I felt like shouting Bingo! when he said he'd seen one. Like Mumsnet Bingo.

I guess I should ask him whether he also saw mostly warm and cold white lights like the other thread

Good point @Towersandbridges, I am settled in for the night now and it was 20 mins walk away. But maybe tomorrow.

@Bella did you see the thread? I think it said they are in B&Q if you want one. Homer sounds great, I hope he appears as usual.

@DinoDays Love the coincidence of your username here. If you haven't spotted one before I get chance I will visit our local one on your behalf 😛. But I usually wait until much closer to Christmas to go decoration spotting and the dino isn't somewhere I would be driving past.

@Notcookie I agree it's probably not but if it gets some people thinking that way when they see them, then it may unintentionally help.

@Borris and @OllyBJolly lol it seems they are taking over Christmas 😂

I'm now wondering if they are new this year or were around other years but many of us oblivious to them.

If new I'm picturing an ideas meeting with the person who suggested them getting odd looks at the very least.

Yet they seem to be selling like hot cakes.

@Lurker2019 we have a tree from every decade since the 60's with decorations. I think a blow up dinosaur may be a step too far :)

Screeched to halt in small cotswold village and asked teenager to take photo as proof!

Sulky teenager took this for me! Sorry but you'll just have to believe me! You'd think I was asking teenager to do some mammoth task instead of just taking a photo out of the car window!

@DinoDays perhaps you should swap said teen to a brick phone for a bit until they remember how phone cameras work? (Dinosaurs are Serious Business & that weird “giving it meteor strike” effect they produced = vvv culturally insensitive to the poor things).
