If I killed DH?

He has been bellowing in teams meetings all morning then as soon as he stopped blew his nose so loudly he woke the baby up

ffs. I just needed to vent. I will not actually be killing him but seriously

OP posts:
ChiIIieP · 08/12/2023 12:13

Does he not have separate space to work in? Not ideal if he's plonked in communal space.

KimberleyClark · 08/12/2023 12:15

I think most people speak louder in teams meetings than they would if talking to someone actually sitting beside them.

Santaiswashinghissleigh · 08/12/2023 12:22

Happily help you with a new patio op. Will make it big enough for my dh. He put the Christmas lights on the tree but couldn't find the adapter end.... Found a new one and it doesn't fit...
He was restringing lights at 6 am this morning as today the only time I have to decorate..
Until I fell down the stairs and now won't be climbing my ladders...

TellySavalashairbrush · 08/12/2023 12:46

I feel your pain op. I have to go into the office just to escape the noise of my husband at home. We have a tiny house and no study/separate room. I really don't want to work from my equally small bedroom, so I just go into work. I long to have an empty house to myself.

Fraaahnces · 08/12/2023 12:48

I’m happy to provide a shovel or an alibi

Spareincoming · 08/12/2023 12:53

I feel your pain. Mine used a vuvuzela horn this morning to scare away a crow in the garden. Terrifying the newborn into hysteria and all wildlife in earshot no doubt.
Apparently it’s because I scare the crows away and he was being helpful.
I do, in the spring, when we have fledglings, with a water pistol.
Not a vuvuzela.

And no, I don’t know where he got it from either. But I know where he can shove it.

whatisheupto · 08/12/2023 12:56

@Spareincoming I am crying with laughter!

Sorry but the image in my head that this caused has really cheered me up. Excellent!

OP - your DP needs to find somewhere to work where he isn't interrupting people, or it's just going to be torture long term for all of you.

Lougle · 08/12/2023 13:15

@Fraaahnces I'll hold the shovel if you provide it.

Anisette · 08/12/2023 13:19

Why does he bellow? Ask him whether he needs a better microphone.

I misread that as a cow and thought that he wasn't being unreasonable....

I had to google vuvuzela.

Which has made your post even funnier!!

What the hell was he thinking!!

I’m sorry for your newborn, but this is very amusing. Why is a singular crow an issue?! I imagine you’ve got no wildlife now! Why does he have a vuvusela?! I hope your baby recovered. X

This is, without doubt, the best post of the day!!!!
😂

My Dsis and I are happy to join the patio building club, as long as we make it big enough for both our DHs...

Santaiswashinghissleigh · 08/12/2023 14:07

A&E will have removed worse than a musical instrument from nether regions I am sure...

Nowherenew · 08/12/2023 14:09

Why would this annoy you?

Why not take the baby out for a long walk when he has teams meetings if you’re worried about them being woken up?

Spareincoming · 08/12/2023 14:11

@maximist His parents have cows so he’d have been outside trying to cuddle one if it had been in the garden…

@BigMarla I don’t know what went through his brain… I do scare away the crows in spring as we get hoards of them after the fledglings but at no other time of the year and not with noise!
And I have absolutely no idea why a vuvuzela and where it came from, it’s not the DC’s and I’ve never seen it before. The mind boggles!

I feel your pain OP. My OH and I both work at home, he has an office he can go to but I don't. I long for the days when he's out of the house and I can have a nice quiet day to myself.

HIs favourite annoying habit is barging into my office (the spare room) and lounging on the bed while talking to be about whatever has just popped into his head. I have told him so many times that he can't just distract me like that, and he means no harm, but I want to kill him daily. It's no vuvuzela though, I admit that.

Waitingfordoggo · 08/12/2023 14:21

I was about to complain about mine having man flu and shuffling about in an Oodie sighing dramatically, but I think @Spareincoming wins the prize for most ridiculous OH.

Isobel201 · 08/12/2023 14:50

I don't think my voice raises when using teams, he must either use a dodgy mic ear device or something is up with his settings.

Spareincoming · 08/12/2023 14:52

@Waitingfordoggo He’s usually the sensible, reserved one who tolerates my ridiculousness so quite what got into him I don’t know!
