To ask for help? Premier League tix for Christmas present

Hi all,

AIBU to ask for your help? Not really an AIBU but would be so grateful if anyone can help.

My Dad is a massive Spurs fan but he doesn’t often go to see them play. I’m also a fan, so I thought I’d try to get him and me 2 tickets to see them play a home game for his Christmas present this year.

I’ve bought One Hotspur membership to buy tickets before they go on general sale, and the tickets for the match I was after went on sale at 10am today. I’ve tried several times to buy 2 tixkets for that match, and also looked at other matches, but every time I look for 2 seats together, there are no options available.

This is the first time I’ve tried to buy Premier League tickets, so I’m probably very naive in terms of how fast they sell out!

I wonder if anyone could offer any help or advice please? Do you think I’ll have any other opportunities to buy tickets for him and me before Christmas?

Thanks!

YABVVVVU FOR BEING A SPURS FAN.

Get out.

cockapup · 28/11/2023 10:56

I believe you can buy resale tickets via an official ticket hub. If you go on FB there are spurs fan groups than can tell you more. COYS.

In fairness she didn't say she was a spurs fan.

Do they have a ticket swap site?

NashvilleQueen · 28/11/2023 10:59

Yes here www.tottenhamhotspur.com/tickets/ticket-exchange/

She did, and she's right to be COYS!

🤣🤣 I’ve walked right into that! (That was a reply to Celtic 😂)

Oh she did! I'm not a spurs fan but I do like them having lived nearby for a few years in my 20s. Also the new ground is brilliant.

Talipesmum · 28/11/2023 11:01

Ah we had this. Have wised up over the last year or so of membership, but it all started with wanting to get Xmas present tickets.

Yes they sell out very very quickly. It depends on the game - I think they are ranked in terms of likely popularity and it seems practically impossible to get seats for the top team games. Also I think there are two levels of one hotspur membership and the “plus” ones can get in a bit earlier for tickets which helps.

You should be able to see when the next batches of tickets for new matches will get released - I think you can get in the ticket queue before 10am, but it won’t let you in before 10am (not sure about this) so try and get queueing earlier than the time it says. And, stalk the resale pages. You can filter on “two seats together” and they do sometimes come up.

Good luck!

SpursFan2 · 28/11/2023 11:06

Thanks so much everyone! And thanks so much for the intel @Talipesmum - really helpful!

Edited

Sorry, couldn't help myself 🤣🤣

SpursFan2 · 28/11/2023 11:23

Thanks so much everyone!! I’ve joined the Facebook groups and put a plea out on Twitter. I can’t thank you enough for your help.

This is such a long shot, but would anyone on here know anyone else who has tickets to sell please?

I’m looking for 2 tickets to the Spurs home games with Wolves, Crystal Palace or Brighton.

My Dad is a lifelong (and long-suffering 🤣) Spurs fan and he’s had a tough year this year. It would make his day to see them!

We’ve had exactly the same issue with trying to get Spurs tickets for young DS. Ended up going via a resale site. Have no idea if reputable and the match isn’t until March!
so no help really sorry.

Flamango · 28/11/2023 12:02

The other thing to do is just buy the premier/basic hospitality package if you can.

@SpursFan2 - not sure how old your dad is but does he remember the double winning side of early 60's?

Yep he does remember @spursvintage! 😂 In the first few games of this season, I think he became hopeful that history would be repeated! I’m still hopeful tbh haha.

I have a family connection to one of the players from that 60s team. I can't get you tickets but happy to organise a video message from him if it would make your dad happy ?

Hillarious · 28/11/2023 16:19

Just for reassurance, but also quite unreasonably, my youngest DS bought Chelsea tickets through a fan ticket exchange site via Twitter and it all worked out well (despite having to watch Chelsea).

ForeveraBluebird · 28/11/2023 16:25

@spursvintage , what a lovely thing to do. I bet the op’s dad would love that.
