To ask for help? Premier League tix for Christmas present

Hi all,

AIBU to ask for your help? Not really an AIBU but would be so grateful if anyone can help.

My Dad is a massive Spurs fan but he doesn’t often go to see them play. I’m also a fan, so I thought I’d try to get him and me 2 tickets to see them play a home game for his Christmas present this year.

I’ve bought One Hotspur membership to buy tickets before they go on general sale, and the tickets for the match I was after went on sale at 10am today. I’ve tried several times to buy 2 tixkets for that match, and also looked at other matches, but every time I look for 2 seats together, there are no options available.

This is the first time I’ve tried to buy Premier League tickets, so I’m probably very naive in terms of how fast they sell out!

I wonder if anyone could offer any help or advice please? Do you think I’ll have any other opportunities to buy tickets for him and me before Christmas?

Alternately, does your team offer tours of the stadium? My team, Liverpool do. Daughter and I went and it was really good.

We were accompanied (about 15 of us) by a Legend who told us stories about being a YTS apprentice under the great Shankley. We got to sit in the players dressing room, and had a Q&A with the legend while we were sitting in the dug out.

They even played You'll Never Walk Alone as we came out of the tunnel after, of course, touching the This Is Anfield sign.

And we had free access to the museum.

It was a really great day out.

Worth it, if you cannot get tickets.

As a general rule for big London clubs, demand for tickets for European games, midweek PL games & fixtures vs ‘smaller’ & non-London teams (eg Sheffield Utd, Burnley, Brentford, Bournemouth) is lower than for weekend games vs ‘Big 6’ clubs.

Whats the budget? They have hospitality tickets for £249, comes with meal, drinks, fancy seat etc?

Hi everyone! Just an update that I finally got tickets! I was just messing around on my phone earlier this evening and looking to see when they’d release the tickets for the next FA cup matches - and then just thought I’d check if they had tickets for other matches available. I managed to find 2 tickets on the Spurs e-ticketing resale site, so I am chuffed! Thanks for all of your help and tips on here - really appreciate it!

To anyone else reading, those resale sites are full of scammers and I see people with fake tickets at every match.

Thanks Twilight! Just to confirm, I got the tickets from Ticketmaster and have had a confirmation email and receipt through. I’m very new to buying football tickets, but I’ve got a digital membership pass for my Dad and me and it says in the booking confirmation email that the tickets will be uploaded to our digital passes 7 days before the match.

How can I be sure this isn’t a ticketing scam? I’m fairly sure it isn’t - and I understand it’s too late now to do much if it does turn out to be a scam - but what are the warning signs to look out for? The normal warning signs, I guess, would be - the website you’re buying from dodgy, paying way over the odds for a ticket, people you’re buying from being cagey about showing ID…

Ahh thanks - and no not at all! Just wanted to make extra-sure the tickets are legit. Will be embarrassing - and upsetting! - if we turn up at the match and the tickets turn to be fake…!

@SpursFan2 if you have Reddit there is a great guide to visiting the stadium on r/coys I really like the live singer that is on and the beer filling up from the bottom is really cool! I love going, I’ve got a season ticket. Best stadium in the world!

Ah thanks - I’ll check out the stadium guide 😊 I’ve only been once before (but to watch a rugby match rather than football). Will be nice to go there to actually watch a Spurs match!
