Lets call Kate’s daughter Ella and your daughter Molly.
So Ella is Molly’s mother. Molly is your daughter.
Therefore you must be Ella, and Kate is your mother.

Try it with the names of your own family. Change Kate for your Mum's name. It's easier that way.
