AIBU to eat cake for breakfast on a Sunday

occasion…on my own at about 8am. Asking for a friend… 🙃

I did exactly this. Lemon drizzle I made yesterday. With my morning coffee at 8am.
Best thing about being a grown-up.

I have some incredible chocolate ganache cake which I bought in a wonderful deli yesterday & I am planning on having it with besakfast today. It was a huge slice so I ate half yesterday & I'll finish it today.

YABU not to have told us what kind of cake it is.

You can eat cake for breakfast every day, if you like - you are an adult, you can do whatever you want.

Ha ha thanks everyone!! To add some context - I don’t normally eat breakfast mon-sat. DH and I take it in turns to have a weekend morning each off to exercise. He is out on Sat morning. On a Sunday, I like to get up and go for a cycle. I’ve started going about 7.30am, cycling to this amazing cafe that opens at 8am, sitting and eating cake 😂 and coffee and then cycling back. Showered and ready to go for 9am! DH thinks it’s hysterically funny that I eat cake that early - I’m now wondering if it is odd 😂 there soften no one else at the cafe. I had a gorgeous chocolate cake this morning.

Sounds perfect. However I would just drive to the coffee shop and eat the cake. Sod cycling!

Good morning. I have a cup of coffee and a rather large slice of stollen in front of me.

It was supposed to be put aside for Christmas. But I thought best taste test it and if it's any good, I can buy another one.

Also, even cake isn't getting me out of bed at 7.30am on a Sunday morning 😴 🙃

Only if it is pancake, waffles, croissants, pastries. Those are breakfast cakes. Other cakes are after breakfast cakes. Its like how you can have a bacon sandwich for breakfast, but a chicken sandwich would be wrong. Stick to the rules! Or move straight to elevenses.

I've just had toasted banana bread which I feel is a breakfast cake as it has oats.

Breakfast cake is the best kind of cake 😍 and you've burned off some of the calories cycling, so win-win.
