To think hundreds of thousands of grown men are walking around in superhero underpants

I was in Asda the other day and noticed a large proportion of men’s underwear seems to be decorated with novelty designs like Star Wars, Spongebob and The Avengers (Iron Man, not Mrs Peel).

Presumably lots of people are buying these or there wouldn't be so many of them.

Do you think there's a correlation with the men who wear those “amusing” ties too?

I used to have a pair of knickers that had Christmas puddings on. Brought me a lot of joy when I saw them in my drawer. They died from too much wearing and washing. Actually, am now off to google another pair for this Christmas.

I spent many years trying to be "grown up" and sophisticated, now I am just me, with my love of Kawaii.

Given 70% of women’s nightwear seems to be Disney characters or teddies or other cartoon stuff, I don’t see the problem either.

I bought my DH some Captain Marvel underpants in Next as they were a £1. He buys me trainers and nightwear.

You're probably right, and good for them! I'm a fan of novelty socks, personally.

Why would their be a correlation between pants and ties? Surely the novelty ties are meant to be seen, maybe for people to comment on, maybe to present themselves as not that serious even though they have to wear a suit and tie. And pants are hidden pretty much all the time, not designed to be seen by the public so wouldn't have any of the same effects as the ties do.

I only have plain boxers. Apart from when you pull them on and off, you never see them so IMO, not much point to give too much thought to the design, as long as you look good in them and they fit well. Maybe 12 year old me would have liked superhero ones.

I can not think of a single thing that I find less attractive than a grown man in kids pants. Yuk. A total passion killer.

Men don’t have the same breadth of clothing options as women. I can’t think why anyone would begrudge men superhero pants.

If men complained about granny knickers these same posters would be up in arms.

The whole idea makes me vorm!!

I'd be more bothered about the number of men walking about with skidmarked underpants going by the stories of some of the women on here and their revolting husbands/partners.

I wouldn’t expect a man to find granny pants attractive either!!

I've got a spongebob bra.

I suspect they’re mostly bought for them by other people. If my men received them, they’d stay in the drawer.

Meh, I don't comment on my DH matching superman pants and sock combo and he doesn't mention my rainbow unicorn pyjamas. All good here.

When I read the title, I hoped you'd done some kind of survey, and I was amused at the thought of you going around asking random men about their pants.

Not everything needs to be attractive to others. It’s ok to dress for yourself.
