My daughter chose a necklace for a birthday present. Vinted said it had been delivered but it hadn’t. I went through all the stupid hassle of filling in forms for them to take it up with the carrier.
this has been going on for weeks.
just got a message saying the carrier said they delivered it therefore we will now pay the seller.
I told them the carrier is lying. I don’t have the item. Not expensive but not the point.
At least with eBay it is up to the seller to prove tracking etc and refunds are much more easily managed.
with vinted it is up to the buyer and even then the carrier can just lie.

What proof has the carrier provided? They usually have to take a photo, showing where it is delivered to?

BigButtons · 30/09/2023 16:16

You would have thought so . My experience with Evri is that they sometimes do that, but not always. Vinted just said they said they delivered it. No mention of proof of delivery.

Did they repeatedly email you in French? That’s what happened to me. I gave to.

noticetomarry · 30/09/2023 17:09

This hasn’t ever happen to me

BigButtons · 30/09/2023 17:39

What is this buyer protection they charge you? It’s a complete lie. Such an amateur set up.

No but the answers may as well have been in a foreign language- for all the good it did.

I use it a lot and have never had that problem but Evri in general are TERRIBLE. If you use Vinted again can you use in post or Yodel?

newbeggins · 30/09/2023 17:42

This has happened to me with M&S too. Evri say it was delivered, I have doorbell proof it wasn't. I've lost a £90 order. As a seller I don't offer Evri postage anymore, the more expensive Royal Mail only now.

Oneeva · 30/09/2023 17:47

I had a similar problem with delivery and won’t use contest again. Yodel provided photo of parcel left on my doorstep. I live on a main road with no wall, hedge or fence to screen between my door and pavement.

I sent photos and explained to vinted that parcel let on doorstep in public view is not delivered. Vinted just said they are going to pay seller because Yodel have fulfilled delivery. Vented told me to take it up with Yodel. So much for buyer’s insurance!

I’m interested to know if you get any sales? I wanted to buy a t shirt but the only option was RM which through Vinted is £3.49!! EBay it can go large letter at £1.89. So I asked if they’d post Evri or yodel, they said no - fair enough - but I wasn’t going to buy a £4 top and pay £3.49 postage…..

cashmerecardigans · 30/09/2023 17:51

I always collect from a parcel shop as evri are notorious for just leaving stuff on the doorstep.

BigButtons · 30/09/2023 18:07

It wasn’t just that Evri left it on the doorstep. I was in the house when the text came through that it had been delivered. As was at the front door within a minute and it wasn’t there. I am at the end of a culdesac. It is pretty safe where I am- things don’t get stolen out front.
it was a lie- it hadn’t been delivered to me.

Not the same thing but I've just recently had two orders sent back to seller because the courier said they couldn't be delivered - but I was in the whole time and no delivery was ever attempted. At least the sellers have their items back but I wanted them! It's a pain in the arse if it goes wrong.

This happened to me with a courier once. I contacted the courier company and they tracked the location of the van to a different street when the “delivered” message was sent. So it was very clear that the driver was lying. They ended up locating the parcel at the depot and re delivering it but if they hadn’t been able to the proof of non-delivery should have got me a refund. It’s worth asking Evri to trace the driver’s locations and see if he even came

Hermes can change their name but they are even more shit with the new one.

sunshinesupermum · 30/09/2023 18:44

Evri is the worst. I never use them but sadly sellers I buy from do. Inpost is marginally better. Yodel seem to be the best fo a bad bunch. I agree with pp that the delivery/postage prices are high with Vinted and the buyers protection is a rip-off as it is meaningless if there's a problem.
I've also posted elsewhere a warning not to use their latest scam where for £3.95 your item can be 'showcased'. Do not fall for this (I tested it out with an expensive item and it's made absolutely no difference to the viewings).

InPost are worse than Evri IME! 2 thirds of the parcels I've sent via them have got lost!

BigButtons · 30/09/2023 22:56

Bit hopeless then- bye bye vinted crappery.

OP posts:
seafish · 30/09/2023 23:07

I ordered a few things off vinted and one of my items were sent back early by in post, before I could collect. Vinted refunded me straight away! Although I have heard other similar stories like yourself.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/09/2023 23:10

Yep. Yodel told me they had delivered to a Safe space'. Then informed me that it was my doorstep. Luckily it was there 7 hours later when we got home.

But when I opted for delivery to the locker to avoid similar happening again I got a completely random item from someone else and my item got lost..

I would, for the peace of mind.
The stress of EVRI and Yodel just isn't worth it. Royal Mail gets my vote all the time. They aren't allowed to leave it on full view on a doorstep, it has to be taken back to the office or left with a neighbour.

TheFlis · 30/09/2023 23:26

I won’t buy from Vinted any more. In two weeks I bought twice from there that were significantly not as described (one obviously damaged and one a completely different size to the listing). Each only cost me about a fiver but I would have had to pay for the returns to get a refund with their ridiculous policy and also pay to park at our nearest parcel shop so it wasn’t worth it, they both went to a charity shop.

Hooplahooping · 30/09/2023 23:53

sorry you guys have had such bad experiences. I’ve used it a lot - and the only two times a parcel wasn’t delivered I got auto refunded before I even noticed… clearly all a bit hit and miss.
