AIBU to want sleep headphones that don’t wake me up to tell me BATTERY LOW?

I really don’t think I am, but who knows on MN these days.

Please tell me about your sleep headphones that are actually designed for sleeping, rather than yanking you out of a nice snooze to tell you about their battery status. Before I end up strangled to death by my old, wired headphones in the middle of the night.

Sorry, I hate this too. I find the only way is to ensure they're fully charged at the start of the night and then put my device on a sleep timer so it doesn't use it all up.

AuntieEsther · 31/08/2023 21:34

Yep
i charge mine every day to avoid this awful fate. It's the worst.

Seaweasel · 31/08/2023 21:36

YANBU. Always makes me jump. I've gone back to wired just in the top ear but it's not as good.

ZonedIn · 31/08/2023 21:37

I charge them every day, but sometimes I forget or I have a really bad night and use them a lot (no sleep therefore no going off on sleep timer) and LOW CHARGE gets me.

They’ve just stopped charging. I was hoping to replace them with something that has a little blinken light that I can tape over, or even just a battery indicator showing on my phone.

Blatantly place-marking just in case anyone does actually know of a make/model, but I don't hold out much hope...

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 31/08/2023 21:38

Mine don't do that, they just switch off when out of battery. They'll also last two full nights of use without being charged. I can't figure out how to link to Amazon outside of my app but the brand is ink-topoint.

Woopzies · 31/08/2023 21:41

Put on a playlist that only has enough music to last however many hours it is between going to bed and the 'battery low' warning. This way, the music will simply stop before the warning happens and the battery will not run down enough for the warning to be triggered.

UnaOfStormhold · 31/08/2023 21:42

Sudden spike in purchases of ink-topoint....

That would be me…

Much appreciation to Renegade, me and my sleep prospects thank you!

Acoustic sheep sleepphones! They don't do this. I have the wired and non wired and they silently give up the ghost...

Happy to help, hope they're ok for you!

CobraChicken · 31/08/2023 21:56

Anyone know of any that are normal earbuds, not those sort of headbands?

Debini · 31/08/2023 21:59

Could you use a pillow talk instead?

mushroommummy · 31/08/2023 22:28

Ohh I have ink-top point & mine say battery low & incoming call even though I have DND on! Maybe I’ve bought the wrong ones.

Yellownotblue · 31/08/2023 22:43

Marking my place

I have bose headphones and they don't tell me the battery is low. They aren't designed for sleeping but I find them very comfortable

taybert · 01/09/2023 12:33

I bought the same model on Amazon as I’d previously had and the original didn’t but the second pair did….it’s so annoying!
I now have Sleep phones/acoustic sheep and they don’t do it and have thinner speakers but they are much more expensive.

Saoirse82 · 01/09/2023 12:36

I'm so tired today because my bastarding things did the same thing last night. I was half asleep so didn't take them out until they'd woken me the third time at least!

CosyCoffee · 01/09/2023 12:42

The BATTERY LOW is always blasted at full volume as well! Fuckers!

I just have my phone charging and playing all night at low volume now. But I have my own room so this might not be possible for others (it's heavenly, by the way) x

BlueberryBasket · 01/09/2023 12:44

I have these https://amzn.eu/d/4ACmBfg which just turn off when they're out of battery. Have had them a couple of years though so there's the possibility they might have updated them...

notlucreziaborgia · 01/09/2023 12:44

Bose. You can turn off verbal prompts in the app.

Muhwanda · 01/09/2023 12:50

I have stuck with wires for this very reason. If my husband does ever want to murder me it’s a convenient excuse….

So I may now have two sets of headphones on their way…

But baulked at the cost of the Acoustic Sheep ones, and the reviews say they don’t last long.

Bose don’t work for me for sleeping, not comfy.
