Does anyone else think that Carrie is a bitch? Why the hell was she so awful to Aidan?

Haha such a pointless post but I'm sick and binge watching the series again and I have no friends so hoping someone else will join in the chat.

It's weird because when I watched it when I was younger I felt like 'big' was the right choice, the exciting, bad boy but now that I'm more mature, I'd love an Aidan!

No one talks about Miranda being a ‘total bitch’ even though her behaviour to Steve’s mother is appalling. She is a snobby, patronising, contemptuous, rude bitch to her baby’s grandmother. Repeatedly throughout the show. No one is writing off that character though.

*that said, I love Miranda 😅

Isn’t the point that they’re all awful, though? Carrie is superficial and self-absorbed, Charlotte is a dimwit prissy princess, Samantha is essentially a one-note bore about sex, and Miranda is basically brusque and rude. Their only ‘good point’ as the series presents it is their friendship with one another.

Miranda was my favourite and how she could dump that hot doctor for Steve is beyond me.

My take on it was that Miranda was actually insecure (remember how drunk she got on the date with the police officer because she thought he was too hot for her?) & therefore liked to be in control / have the upper hand in her relationships which wasn't possible with Robert because for all intents and purposes, he was her equal. Robert matched her social standing & was every bit as rich, successful, educated & good looking (probably even more so) than she was.

With Steve however, she was the higher earner, better educated, better looking, a higher class (as Charlotte put in when they were getting pedicures) and therefore she had the upper hand / control with him.
