They are so loud!
Where did all of these green parrots in London come from anyway?
There's so much in NW10 they are like pigeons

Not sure about parrots but the seagulls make me feel like I’m near a beach (I’m not)

Caspianberg · 29/08/2023 06:09

The green parrots have been around for years in London. We had them roost in the hundreds outside out flat about 10 years ago.

I quite liked them. Nicer than pigeons.

BBno4 · 29/08/2023 06:11

Yes, they are very beautiful but so loud.

guiltyfeethavegotnorythym · 29/08/2023 06:17

Any photos we don't have them where we live?

They started from a few pet pairs that escaped or were released (like Egyptian Geese which are now common in London parks). There's a colony in Newcastle now and they've spread up into Scotland in small numbers. No natural predators here, although apparently birds of prey are now starting to realise that they're edible.

They are ring-necked parakeets.

BBno4 · 29/08/2023 06:22

They line up the fences, lampposts and trees. There's so many.

We were staying in Northampton recently and there were loads, which shocked me as we are near London and have none

Sunsnet · 29/08/2023 06:25

I don't live in London but we have lots of Budgies too, yes they are really loud even when you're not fucking them in the morning!

camelfinger · 29/08/2023 06:25

Loads in SW London. They’ve increased massively in numbers over the last 20 years I’d say.

FiftynFooked · 29/08/2023 06:28

Parrots are for amateurs! Look at this beast who's flying around on the loose near where I live!

Fucking parrots in the morning omg
Geminio · 29/08/2023 06:28

We have them, they are very loud and eat all the bird food like a swam of locusts.
They are quite pretty but just so annoying.

WinterFireJanuaryEmbers · 29/08/2023 06:30

yes they are really loud even when you're not fucking them in the morning!

Willmafrockfit · 29/08/2023 06:36

Iwantmyoldnameback · 29/08/2023 06:45

Every now and then someone who should know better posts a picture on Facebook proclaiming someone has lost their pet parrot. .

Mariposa26 · 29/08/2023 06:52

Haha, this is such a timely thread as I was internally angry at these little birds yesterday for waking my baby up. They are so loud! But beautiful.

Bananalanacake · 29/08/2023 06:56

I used to live in Blackheath and would see them flying around the trees next to the railway line.
