Just wondering if aibu or not
We have paid around £100 each (family of 5) to camp with my friend and her kids at a popular farm park that are doing a weekend where you stay over.
A lady with two children around 2 and 11 has camped right next to us and immediately started smoking around us as soon as she pitched up early this afternoon (there is a designated smoking area at the bottom of the field).
Got back from a toilet trip around an hour ago to find the whole area in and around my tent stinking of weed. Went and reported to a staff member who went and spoke to her and told her that even smoking in or near your tent isn't allowed and she said it was definitely this woman next door smoking it.
The staff member came back and told me this and offered to let us move our tent tomorrow but we have quite a big and heavy tent and we want to be off exploring with our kids not wasting time we have paid for moving. Plus we wouldn't be with our friends anymore unless they moved too.
I feel bad for her kids and im really annoyed she cant just give it a bloody rest for 2 nights on a kiddies camping weekend. This woman's tent is pretty small and she must have been right next to her kids, its got me thinking... do the staff at the park have a duty of care to report this woman? Is smoking weed around your kids considered neglect?
