There is a make of a Covid test that always gives a weird line, isn't there?(pic)

I'm sure I've had this before on a type of test like this.

Has this happened to anyone else?

In fact, perhaps it may not even show up to anyone else.

Yes I know there is a covid page but it's incredibly quiet there these days.

I think I've been catapulted back to 2020

Fallenangelofthenorth · 18/08/2023 15:21

There's a reason the covid board is quiet...

ADHDDDDDDDBOOM · 18/08/2023 15:24

Well, if either of you had a 10 day old baby, would you want a healthcare professional at your home if they knew full well they had Covid?

OP posts:
Fallenangelofthenorth · 18/08/2023 15:25

I wouldn't know whether they had any other communicable disease would I?

Berlinlover · 18/08/2023 15:25

Cold and ‘flu viruses existed before 2020. Covid isn’t Ebola, it’s time to move on.

Mosavian · 18/08/2023 15:26

What’s the expiry date of the test in the photo?

Moonberri · 18/08/2023 15:28

I would say that's a positive. I am on Day 13 of having covid and it has been brutal. I tested as I didn't want to pass it onto my family and I'm glad I did as I was so ill.

I'm on Day 13 now and getting the same sort of line that you have. It could be the beginning of covid.

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 18/08/2023 15:29

That’s positive.
I currently have Covid. Had dinner with 8 people on Saturday night and we all have it now.

I keep hearing it's brutal again.

I'd feel fucking terrible if I made a new mother feel that way (in my experience the babies are often ok!)

Sorry but that looks positive. Hope you are ok.
And don't isten to people on here who are saying you shouldn't test. COVID is still with us and it can still be lethal for some people. It's the responsible thing to do

Un7breakable · 18/08/2023 15:37

Completely agree. Surely if we can prevent transmission to vulnerable people (or anyone) we should.

Purpleavocado · 18/08/2023 15:52

It's still going around, I've just had it, 3 people I work with also had it.

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 18/08/2023 15:53

I would really rather my friend had tested than coming and giving at least 8 people this. I have spent the week in bed and had to cancel 2 days Dentistry.
I’ve had Covid 3 times now- May 2021, March 2022 and now and this is the worst I have felt. I’ve had 4 jabs, most recently September 2022.

I had that last year, didn't believe it and did another, 3rd day it was positive and still felt fine.

ManateeFair · 18/08/2023 17:35

At first I thought you were seeing things, but then I zoomed in on the picture and yes, I'm afraid that does look positive. It's very faint though, which tends to indicate that you have a fairly mild case, or that the infection is on its way out.

If the test is yours, take care and feel better soon!

Of course not, I caught it at the dinner.

Abbimae · 18/08/2023 17:37

So I never saw a test do this until we used a NEW batch sent by NHS to husband who is immunocompromised. Don’t know if it’s an evaporation line

Opihr · 18/08/2023 17:39

We had trouble with Flowflex tests back in the day, as they always showed very faint positives like with when my son tested. It was only him in the family this happened to and a follow up PCR test came back negative on several occasions.

Reading about it at the time, we weren't the only ones who had trouble with Flowflex.

What brand is that one?

Do you ever hear about the cold that caused early onset dementia, blood clots, diabetes, strokes..:. No me either.
Covid is nasty. Just because it’s an inconvenient truth doesn’t make the effects less true. Pop the bubble you live in.

PickAChew · 18/08/2023 17:44

It's very much doing the rounds at the moment. My parents have it for the first time and I suspect well have caught it off them. Ds2 spent yesterday pretty unwell but nobody is getting anywhere near him with a swab!

Hope you're OK.

Lateral. Flow tests for flu are available, now, BTW.

Nope, but I’ve tested today. I thought at first it was a sickness bug but I’m glad I tested instead of just wandering off to see my Mum who is currently in hospital on a ward for elderly people.
