Why, when women are struggling financially

do people so often suggest Only Fans or selling intimate underthings to pervs, debasing her even further, and by extension, all of us by reinforcing the notion that we’re the sex class?

There are other ways to earn extra money ffs

Another poster on that thread has a friend who buys multi packs of knickers and sells them when she has worn them.

Most of the suggestions I hear involve selling things you don't want on ebay or gumtree, filling in surveys, babysitting and budgeting more carefully.

I've never heard anyone suggest only fans.

Haven't seen the thread but I'd be a little suspicious if several mnetters suggested only fans as a solution to poverty. Is the op and/ or the only fan advocates brand new posters by any chance, it is the holidays after all?

Seen it a lot on here, on other sites and in real life.

People just think it’s easy money. It isn’t. I know someone who does a foot fetish thing on onlyfans and she yes she makes good money but she also has to spend a fortune to maintain her stream of income (photography and camera equipment including lighting rigs, expensive shoes, make up and nail polishes, editing soft wear, marketing, regular trips to the beautician for pedicures etc etc). It’s not simply a case of snapping a picture with an iPhone and watching the money roll in.

I do know of a man that set up an OnlyFans account because of thinking he could make a lot of money from it. He is a distant relative who we have little contact with (I don't know why he's shared the OF info either...). He isn't the sort of person you'd look at and think he had any ability to make any money from OnlyFans. He has told my DH what he puts on there and it absolutely churns my stomach.
That is the only person I know that uses it at all.

Most other people just clean holiday lets or start an Etsy.

I wouldn't want to do OF but frankly if some sad bastard wants to buy my used drawers for a reasonable amount then I could be very tempted. After all I wear them anyway and if they are willing to pay more for them than I did its literally money for nothing

It’s better for the environment than sending them to landfill.

It's not your business really is it. If it's a choice between losing your home or not losing your home, I can see why someone would do it. There is obviously a market for it, and uts a lot safer than selling sex on the streets
