black bean and butternut squash tacos

fresh BNS
canned black beans
new mini tortillas
grated mozzarella

then some salad, cucumber, celery, pepper and carrot all washed throughly

It's usually something you ate about 24 hours earlier, when did you eat those?

Swishswish26 · 16/08/2023 08:04

Could it be a sickness bug rather than food poisoning? I wouldn’t expect any of those food items you have listed could make you ill. Hope you feel better soon.

Rina66 · 16/08/2023 08:05

What's BNS?

Cazzovuoi · 16/08/2023 08:05

What did you eat the day before? It’s usually the thing you had before the last thing you ate.

I'd go with the black beans if they were undercooked they can cause stomach upset.

Rina66 · 16/08/2023 08:13

Agree, the black beans but we have all had a sickness bug recently which was very like food poisoning.

Mrsjayy · 16/08/2023 08:16

Yes it could be a stomach bug, do you see your mum regularly ?

Twitch45 · 16/08/2023 08:17

I'm not sure you can undercook canned beans?

How badly ill have you been? Slightly dodgy stomach or full-on projectile vomiting?

I'd go with the black beans if they were undercooked they can cause stomach upset.

They were canned? Doesn’t that mean that they can be eaten straight from the can?

I would vote sickness bug, there are so nasty ones going round atm 😫

Mrsjayy · 16/08/2023 08:20

Oh no you have to cook them !

Hufflepods · 16/08/2023 08:20

It’s not automatically your dinner or the last thing you ate, nor is a dodgy tummy automatically food poisoning.

YukoandHiro · 16/08/2023 08:21

You can't eat black beans without cooking unless they are specifically in a can that says "bean salad".

Ouch! No wonder you had cramps!

LivStanshall · 16/08/2023 08:23

I’d go with the salad. Was it a bagged one? They are a big culprit for food poisoning, even if washed.

Mrsjayy · 16/08/2023 08:23

Or at least heat them up beans can have a bacteria from them it's the same with Kidney beans. It was probably a bad can

Dreamingofthree · 16/08/2023 08:23

Mrsjayy · 16/08/2023 08:20

They were cooked too at least 10 mins on the hob and were piping hot.

i think toasted them with cheese for the taco, everyone who ate the tacos in the house has had a dodgy tum. Dd didn’t and then made her own that was chicken and cheese and she’s ok

The worst food poisoning I have ever had came from a salad bar so that would be my vote for the culprit.

Unless you are not used to beans (ones from a can are cooked and only need reheating). That can cause some gastric disturbance too but not usually nausea.

LivStanshall · 16/08/2023 08:25

Mrsjayy · 16/08/2023 08:20

Not if they are canned. They are already cooked. You could eat them cold if you wanted.

CarolHath · 16/08/2023 08:25

Whatttttt. I've used canned blacked beans in a salad uncooked, no issues. OP there's lots of stomach bugs going around I had one last week with just diarrhoea

Heronwatcher · 16/08/2023 08:26

Was the mozzarella pre-grated? I never trust that? Or had it been open in the fridge for a while?

Seasidemumma77 · 16/08/2023 08:27

I've had food poisoning twice, both times it was pre-packaged salad. I was seriously ill as were the rest of the household. The 2nd time it was linked to nationwide contamination, and product recall followed.

AllyCart · 16/08/2023 08:28

Probably the salad.

Salads are one of the top causes of food poisoning.
