To think this is weird as fuck? It’s a mystery!

Postwoman has just been. ASOS delivery to my address. ‘Oh fuck’ I think, ‘my return must have been rejected’.

Nope.

I have been sent a pack of three T-shirts 6 sizes too big for me. They are in ASOS packaging but come from M&S and say ‘Ciao’, ‘Bonjour’ and ‘Happiness’ on them.

No record of an order on the app so I haven’t accidentally done it in my sleep, nor have the kids accidentally done it. Customer service can’t/won’t tell me where they came from. I don’t have friends who are in the habit of sending me random stuff.

I just don’t understand!! Obviously my username is tongue in cheek, I’m assuming it’s probably an innocuous error but still, WTF?

Not really.

Where I live there is a road with the same name in the same county, about 15 miles away.

Sometimes their stuff ends up with me, and I guess sometimes my stuff ends up with them.

Then sometimes people input the address wrong. I sometimes put my street number in wrong because it is very close to the number where I used to live.

So maybe a little strange. But we are not talking Big Foot, Bermuda Triangle or the Marie Celeste here.

Tulipvase · 11/08/2023 13:49

Is your name/address on the parcel?

TallulahBetty · 11/08/2023 13:52

Addressed to you personally? I don't understand why ASOS can't tell you anything

Rivermedway · 11/08/2023 13:54

Isn’t there a scam similar to this?

parcel gets delivered which you’ve accepted, so there’s proof you gave them. Someone (fraudster?) then comes and picks them up saying there’s been a mistake. However, because there’s evidence you’ve accepted them, you gave to pay.

not quite sure how it all works. Fake account in your name invoiced to you on an account? Don’t hand them over to anyone wanting to collect them.

not sure if I’ve explained it properly.

asosStalker · 11/08/2023 13:54

Yes, addressed to me personally. I don’t have a common name, nor is my address likely to get mixed up with someone else’s. It is my exact name and address on the parcel.

Have not gave

Whowhatwherewhenwhy1 · 11/08/2023 13:56

Sounds like a packaging error

KimberleyClark · 11/08/2023 13:57

I once put in the wrong delivery address when ordering something from M & S. It was my friend's address that was stored because I'd previously sent her flowers for her birthday. Maybe someone just put the wrong address in.

That increases the mystery factor a bit.

Does it have an invoice or an order number on the label ?

theelectricnorth · 11/08/2023 13:58

Have you ordered from any second hand selling apps like Vinted or eBay where the seller could have mixed up your postage label with another buyer?

Soberfutures · 11/08/2023 13:58

I had this once by amazon. They sent me some lovely hand cream. I sent a message to them and it was investigated and apparently sometimes the computer will print a random lable due to human error clicking the wrong button. And no to worry as it never happened again and I was told to just keep them.

SoCentralRain · 11/08/2023 13:58

This happened to me with an Asda George delivery, my name, address but loads of random clothes inside which I didn’t order. They had no record of it and in the end I just sold the clothes. I just assumed someone’s else’s order had been mixed up with my account somehow.

PenelopeTheShroudWeaver · 11/08/2023 13:58

It's the ASOS packaging with M&S items in it that I find really strange

I can just about imagine how your details might have accidentally been swapped with another customer in the database, but the branding thing is very odd

FinanceLPlates · 11/08/2023 13:59

This does sound like some kind of scam to me. Not sure how exactly though! Can you find those products on Asos?

its obviously a Vinted order with reused Amazon packaging

ASOS packing sorry

msmonstera · 11/08/2023 14:01

I had similar with Amazon. There were two address labels on opposite sides of the parcel. I got someone else's order and they may or may not have received mine. Customer service were stellar at fixing it.

doris9034 · 11/08/2023 14:20

My mum ordered an air fryer from Lakeland, which was due to be delivered via Etsi.

A few days later she was delivered a size 16 halterneck cami from BooHoo. She's 75 and definitely not a size 16!!!

Blossomandbee · 11/08/2023 14:25

I would assume some computer mix up somewhere. What did they tell you to do with it?

Dontcallmescarface · 11/08/2023 14:28

I came home from my holiday to find a package with just my address and no names. It contained a dog bed. I know I didn't order it because I don't have a dog. No invoice/delivery note, nothing has been taken from my bank account. It's all very odd.

Fraaahnces · 11/08/2023 14:29

Your husband has booked a Mediterranean cruise for your Birthday/Christmas/Anniversary/Tuesday and that’s how he’s going to let you know!!!!

holidayhell123 · 11/08/2023 14:37

I had something similar once and my card had been used, but it didn’t come out immediately so it seemed like I’d gotten it for free… it was a fraud gone wrong (possibly?) and the parcel had been sent by accident to the billing address on the card rather than the delivery one…

PriamFarrl · 11/08/2023 14:46

Twoleftlegs · 11/08/2023 14:00

its obviously a Vinted order with reused Amazon packaging

Why would this Vinted seller have packaging with the OPs address?

EmptyTheFrickingBins · 11/08/2023 14:46

Could be a brushing scam too.

OakTree16 · 11/08/2023 14:50

Have you ordered from vinted? I’ve had parcels wrapped in store wrapping before
