To worry turkey won't be hot in October?

Looking to take a break in the oct half term, obviously it would be very end of October/beginning of November. I've looked at Gran Canaria and Lanzarote as I was told they would be hot but the prices are extortionate! Have found some good deals for turkey but there is really mixed info online about weather. We would be looking at Dalaman or Antalya, has anyone been at that time of year and can shed some light on the weather?

I've been to Antalya at that time of year and it was lovely - mid to high 20s! Perfect (and much warmer than the canaries!)

I’ve been to Turkey in Oct and the weather was warm. It got dark and chilly quite early though - no long summer evenings which I missed.

I've been to dalesman around that time of year. it's actually perfect. not too hot. perfect outdoors weather.

I went to Turkey in October and had no problems with the weather or the men. Low 20s in the day.

Nothingbuttheglory · 10/07/2023 17:22

Forgot to say - the sea is lovely and warm then too.

We went in late September, very early October and it was in the 40s.

It was uncomfortable to walk down the street (and I've lived in tropical countries).

We’ve been to the area in October (always flying into Dalaman and staying in a 2 hour radius most times). It’s hit and miss to be honest, we love that time of year because it’s cooler for sightseeing and less crowded but sometimes it can be wet and cold, one year it rained heavily the whole 10 days we were there. I’d totally recommend it as a time to go but probably not first choice for a week of sunbathing.

As others have said though it can be gorgeous and hot - just a bit of a lottery!

PinglePongle · 10/07/2023 17:50

Can be hit and miss, we booked 3 days before we went last October half term as could see the forecast was good rather than taking a risk

Footle · 10/07/2023 17:53

I thought you were stressing about cooking the Christmas turkey a couple of months early.

😂😂😂

It can be lovely at that time of year, it can be not so good. We’ve been to Bodrum slightly earlier in October a couple of times and it’s been mid 20s most days.

The sea is usually warm enough to swim comfortably. Pools can be a little more variable as they are rarely heated in Turkey we’ve found.

Me too! 😂

We stayed at Tui Blue Flamingo Beach Lanzarote in Oct hols and it was pretty cheap. Booked flights with easyjet and was about £50 a night for room only for the three of us there.

booktokbear · 10/07/2023 18:05

We stayed at Lara Beach Oct half term last week, a lot of things were shutting down as it was end of season (and everyone wanted our money as not as many tourists) but weather was lovely during the day most days. It's just shorter days, eves are a bit chilly.

Found the pools to be too cold but the sea was warmer.

RogersOrganismicProcess · 10/07/2023 18:06

I used to live there. October would be cardigan weather. Warm during the main part of the day but cool in the morning and evening. November-February can get very very cold!

booktokbear · 10/07/2023 18:06

earsup · 10/07/2023 18:11

we go oct 10th ish each year, might get an hour of heavy rain each day and then sun is out and its hot.

Xrays · 10/07/2023 18:12

Make sure you double check with the actual resort you stay at that everything you want to be open is open as it may be classed as out of season.

Biffsboys · 10/07/2023 18:29

We were there last October, 6 out of 10 days were cloudy and we had a few storms

LegendsBeyond · 10/07/2023 18:34

It’s hit and miss. Definitely not guaranteed sun.

dontknowwasmadetoknow · 10/07/2023 18:49

We went October half term last year and the weather was really lovely very warm during the day but cooler in the evening.

You will need a heated pool as the unheated pools were freezing.

sweetcherrypie91 · 10/07/2023 19:34

Thanks everyone. The other place we were looking at was Fuerteventura, has anyone been there in the half term?

Why don't you just use Google to find the average temperature? It's too easy...
