Why do men/males kiss by just opening their mouth to the fullest

Yesterday I met up with a few friends for a ladies lunch. As we do many conversations from all different subjects, but the one we ALL agreed on was... How males just kiss by opening their mouths fully and that's it.
There's no mimicking the other person. Just open wide.
Some of them said that at some point have taught their boyfriend /partner / husband what to do.

My question is..

Wibu to teach the partner what to do, even though this could potentially offend them

Or

Shall I just avoid kissing to the point further than a peck.

Has anyone been in this situation before?

(I can only say about males as none of our group have kissed females) .

Oh I sooo read the title wrong. I thought you meant men greet each other with wide open mouths.

Fortunately I haven't had a man try to eat my face like you describe. Sounds horrible.

I think this happened to me once when I was about 17. I never found this in my old single days.

Thereoughttobeclowns · 07/07/2023 12:33

Sounds revolting. My husband’s a very good kisser.

Kitkatcatflap · 07/07/2023 12:35

To stop you saying anything

I had this once and it was so wierd. He was great in bed in every other way. Baffling.

I've kissed more men than I remember, and what you are describing is not common.

Yes, there are a few bad kissers around but what you are describing is unusual.

I recently kissed someone who did just there opposite. It's like his mouth couldn't open more than a few millimeters. There was no second date

I'm 42. I'm widowed. But my husband was a brilliant kisser.
I've kissed a few people in my life time before my marriage, but I've had 1 kiss just recently. He's 38. He literally just had his mouth open. I couldn't even match it 😂😂😂... So I just kinda moved my kisses onto he's cheek down to his neck. I just didn't know what to do. I was more shocked than anything, so when the ladies lunch came up with similar stories... I just thought I'd put it out there on here.

He's a lovely person. I just don't know how to approach this situation considering his age. It's not like he's young. He's been single for about 15 years now.

How do i guide him? I just wanna laugh and say "what are you doing" ? But obviously, that would be wrong and without question would knock his confidence.

It does feel like I'm back in the 90's with my 1st kiss 😂😂.

You sure they are men and not goldfish?

Zola1 · 07/07/2023 16:46

Ew I've kissed a lot of men in my years but none like you describe

DogbertMcDogglesworth · 07/07/2023 16:48

I once had an ex boyfriend who kissed like that.
It was like kissing a bloody sink plunger!

BertieBotts · 07/07/2023 17:02

Tell him. If his confidence is so fragile that he can't cope with being told something like this then he's no use anyway!

WedTheBed · 07/07/2023 17:04

My partner never does this.

but tbh, I’ve never been a fan of open mouth kidding anyway. Long pecks or lots of pecks is my preference 😂

We had nicknames for them, things like The Washing Machine and The Shark. This was in the 80s and admittedly we did kiss quite a few
