Received a photo from an unknown person and it's driving me mad!

A couple of weeks ago I received a photo (large, printed on canvas) though the post from Photobox.

There was nothing else inside and no indication of who is was from. I've spoken to all my friends and none of them have a clue about it.

Photobox aren't replying to my emails, but I don't think they'd be able to tell me anything anyway, would they?

The photo is of a random city that I've never been to. My name and address are correct on the packaging.

Wwyd?

I wouldn't do anything other than put is somewhere and forget about it.

SpeckledlyHen · 17/06/2023 16:42

There's not a lot you can do is there? Apart from chuck it or keep it

CuteBeans · 17/06/2023 16:42

Yes, you're right 😆 I just keep thinking about it and want to know who sent it!

Put it back in the post marked NATA

It is my name and address though?

It might just be an error. I don't think it was Photobox, but I once ordered a family photo calendar for DH for Christmas. Left it in the box to wrap it because I was being lazy (and kind of wanted the surprise) - when he opened it on Christmas day, 11/12 photos were of some random other family! Luckily he found it very funny and when I contacted them, they sent the right calendar out free of charge, it was hilarious.

ReceiptsAreBeingCollected · 17/06/2023 16:44

Doesn't matter, send it back NATA

Hahaha brilliant! It's just strange because I've never used them before, and the pic is just some scenery. It actually looks like a picture from google rather than one someone's taken.

Take a pic of the photo and reverse image search it?

Oh I didn't think of that, thanks!

😂 Report back!

CuteBeans · 17/06/2023 17:02

Lots of very similar ones but nothing exact 🤦‍♀️ I think I'm going to have to force myself to forget about it! I just can't help wondering why would someone who knows my name and address send me a random picture and say nothing about it.

Could it be a case of 'brushing', where a company gets a load of leaked data and uses it to send unordered lowish value items to people so they can boost their confirmed deliveries count on a shopping site. Happens with Amazon.

I had though of that, I'm not sure whether Photobox would do that? I guess there's no way to find out aghhh.

Did the label or package have any reference numbers?

AxolotlEars · 17/06/2023 17:15

I had this happen to me. I just chucked it in the bin, in the end. The person who ordered it will complain when it doesn't arrive

Yes it's from Evri, there's a barcode and something that looks like a qr code that says "scan me" but it doesn't take me anywhere (says not found). I'm guessing it would just take me to the Photobox website though?

You could take a photo of both and email it to Photobox, I suppose.

Its a message from aliens in space. You must travel to the city in the photo and wait there for the spaceship which will take you to their planet. You have been chosen to form a breeding pool for the survival of the human species after Putin makes Earth uninhabitable.

VapeHelp · 17/06/2023 17:24

Post the photo - someone here will recognise it!

Stripedbag101 · 17/06/2023 17:30

It’s the opening scene of a thriller!

it’s the picture that was hanging on the wall when you broke up with your childhood boyfriend: his life spun out of control, dropped out of uni, addiction, crime, depression and eventually suicide.

his sister wanted revenge. You will soon keep bumping into a pretty, vivacious woman Oman who will befriend you. Be very careful - she will steal your husband, undermine you at work and make you out to be an unfit mother. Your life is about to spiral out of control ….. just like Stephen’s did.

Could that be the OW, slowly making her moves?

CuteBeans · 17/06/2023 17:34

You lot are making me paranoid now 🤣🤣🤣

Are you expecting any parcels from anywhere that might be delivered by Evri? Because it sounds as if Evri have mixed up the shipping labels somewhere along the line.
