To think there’s nothing to buy from Halfords?

Unless you’re into camping or cycling? I’ve got £300 in vouchers and there’s absolutely nothing I want from there. It really annoying as I’m really struggling financially at the moment too….

I can’t spend the vouchers on their tyres or MOT’s either!

How did you end up with the vouchers?!?

bibbityboppityboo · 16/06/2023 17:22

Can you sell them to someone for a cheaper value? Like £250, then you've got the cash and they've got a bit of a bargain?

Mogwalla · 16/06/2023 17:24

Someone drove into the back of my car ( it wasn’t a bad crash) so despite the car seats being absolutely fine my insurance company gave me the voucher to get some new ones.

Windscreen washer fluid
Windscreen wipers
Bungee cords
A range of random reflective stickers
Car mats
Rucksacks
Get all your Xmas gifts from there
Water bottles
Sunglasses

Mogwalla · 16/06/2023 17:25

Yes, I’m going to have to try to sell them on I think!

Ah Christmas presents! Hadn’t thought of that.

Buy new car seats that’s what the vouchers are for you can’t tell if they are damaged

mrsbyers · 16/06/2023 17:26

EBay the vouchers or sell on marketplace

CalamityCara · 16/06/2023 17:27

They sell Dashcams

GeekyThings · 16/06/2023 17:28

They're are online stores that you can sell vouchers to. Failing that you can get things like roller skates, skateboards, and all the extras to go with them, could be a couple of nice big presents for Christmas!

Boomboom22 · 16/06/2023 17:28

I'd try and swap them for full value first, someone you know might need to buy all the Europe kit before the summer holidays, chargers etc. If you know anyone who is pregnant they might be planning to buy car seat etc.
I'd put it out to all my class and friend WhatsApp groups, people might say oh ill swap 50 with you.

HidingInAForest · 16/06/2023 17:28

I'd buy carseats. You can't see the damage from an impact.

Boomboom22 · 16/06/2023 17:28

Or your kids might need new bikes and helmets for Xmas?

BabyofMine · 16/06/2023 17:28

You don’t know if the car seats are completely fine, you need to get new ones. The interior can be broken / cracked, that’s the entire reason they pay out for new car seats!

lljkk · 16/06/2023 17:29

Flog 'em on ebay.
I bought cycle innertubes from Halford's last week (Chichester). I could find more to buy....

Porridgeislife · 16/06/2023 17:29

Unless it was a very low speed, minimal damage collision you need to replace the car seats. You can’t tell if they’re “fine” by visual inspection

JanesBlond · 16/06/2023 17:31

Replace the car seats. They might not look damaged but they could be compromised from the impact.

Yeah this. Even in a really small crash the advice is to replace car seats. They absorb the energy of the crash to reduce impact on the child, damage can happen internally that you can’t see which make them less effective in the future.

Er…. You need to spend them on new car seats, and for good reason!!

Useful information about whether the car seats need replacing (although I'm sure you've already done your research)

Sites like cardyard.co.uk will allow you to trade cards in either for cash or (at a better rate) in exchange for cards you'll actually use. Check them all for the best deal.

I agree. The money is to replace the car seats.

lemonyellows · 16/06/2023 17:36

See if someone who looks like buying something substantial wants them for £200. They might think it's all a bit dodgy though 😂

Frustratedwithbadlegaladviceontheinternet · 16/06/2023 17:38

Insurance companies don’t pay out when they don't have to. Buy the car seats.

NEmama · 16/06/2023 17:40

@Mogwalla
Bikes for xmas

GoodVibesHere · 16/06/2023 17:42

Buy a bike and sell it on?
