AIBU to be gutted that this shopping website has ceased trading out of the blue? I loved it. Discounts, free next day delivery and the option to use PayPal in 3. Anyone else fed up??

Another one here who had never heard of them.

Well with high interest rates, COL crisis and a potential credit crunch I'm expecting more of this. Lots of zombie companies surviving on credit and not making any money out there.

Yup! I'm one of those. It's hell!

Pretty sure I looked at this when they started up, as there was a free drivers offer. They didn't deliver to us (rural) so never looked again.

I'm really sad about this. I've been using Bother ever since they started for all my bulky household requirements (toilet roll, kitchen paper, soap powder, cleaning materials etc.). They made my life much easier - without a car, it's not easy getting lots of large items home. Recently I started using them for food items also. I raved about them to anyone who would listen as being one of the best companies I'd ever dealt with! Their website was really easy to navigate. When I needed customer service they couldn't have been more responsive.

In a way, I'm not surprised that they went bust. Their prices were very competitive so, what with high inflation and so much upheaval currently in the retail markets, I'm not surprised that they were unable to continue.

I only discovered that they'd closed because I went to their website to place another order.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has any recommendations for similar companies.

Me, too - about recommendations! I really miss this company. Perhaps they were too ambitious. Next day delivery, you only had to spend £40, you could spread payments over 3 months interest free. It was brilliant.
I got peed off with posters saying they’d never heard of them. Well, why bloody post then?? Just move on.
I'm with you Adrian99999!

Sorry never heard of them. Sounds a bit like amazon subscribe and save selection. Personally I find lidl better

Nussbaum · 29/06/2023 18:32

I've never heard of them either.

MossCow · 29/06/2023 20:23

So, you are looking for a company where you can order online and that will deliver food and other household goods to your house? With next day delivery where you only have to spend £40.

Hmmm. I'll have a think about it. It's a puzzler.

Lol - to both replies 😂. Typical of some MN replies. As if it all matters that much. If people haven’t heard of it, why do they bother responding and get stuck up a backwater? Just move on to threads which interest you. So sorry you had to Google it, deathbyhayfever! 😱

why do they bother responding

We Bother because Bother won’t bother anymore 😥

They sold good brands I used them once every 6 weeks or so. Sad to hear they’ve gone
