I just had my 20 week scan and the sonographer accidentally let slip that we’re having another boy (we were hoping to keep it a surprise). We’re still going to keep it as a surprise for our family so other than DH I don’t really have anyone to talk to about it, so I wanted to share here. I’m so so excited!.
Ever since I was little I wanted to be a mum of 2 boys, I’m not sure why, it just always felt like what I was meant to have. I would’ve been happy either way, our baby is healthy and doing great, but the news of another boy was just the icing on the cake.
DH is one of 2 boys and is really excited because he’s so close to his brother and can’t wait for our boys to (hopefully) be the same. We’re just so so happy and had to share it somewhere!.

Curseofthenation · 31/05/2023 17:20

Congratulations! We're expecting our second in September and have decided to keep it a surprise but like you, I would definitely be very happy to have another boy. Obviously a girl would be lovely too!

Wishing you a smooth second half of your pregnancy.

SchoolShenanigans · 31/05/2023 17:21

Woo hoo! Congratulations!

caringcarer · 31/05/2023 17:21

How lovely for you and your DH. It makes such a lovely change from posters sad it isn't a DD. Congratulations OP 💙.

Absolem76 · 31/05/2023 17:21

Congratulations!
But did the sonographer actually say it's a boy or did they say he when talking about the baby? If the latter it may not mean the baby is a boy. Something similar happened to a friend of mine. They didn't want to know the sex, the sonographer said she when talking about the baby so they were convinced they had let the sex slip and that they were having a girl but the baby turned out to be a boy!

tulipsunday · 31/05/2023 17:23

Aw congratulations! Lovely also to see a boy positive post 🥰

gooseduckchicken · 31/05/2023 17:23

The sonographer said it was a boy. She was really upset that she let slip bless her, but we were over the moon!. What a shock for your friend, I hope they didn’t spend loads of money on girls clothes!.

Thank you for all the lovely comments everyone!. This would’ve been our last baby regardless of the sex but we’re over the moon. I can’t wait to raise these 2 boys!.

Aw congratulations OP, how exciting for you! I’m sure DS will be thrilled to hear he’s having a little brother too.

Absolem76 · 31/05/2023 17:37

I think they bought some. Also although they were happy just to have a healthy baby. It took longer to bond because the baby they thought they were having didn't actually exist.
Congratulations on your two boys. Two bothers are lovely.

This happened to me, we asked not to know the sex, the sonographer accidentallly let slip a 'he' turns out that's how he refers to all babies..... my dd is currently sat opposite me!

I can imagine that would’ve been quite difficult for them❤️.
Thank you! Yes two brothers are brilliant

Haha! If the sonographer had just used male pronouns I think I would’ve just brushed it off, but they were as sure as they could be that it was a boy😂

Congratulations, from the Mum of two boys. The older they get, the more pleased I am to have had two. Obviously you don’t know how their personalities and interests will develop but my two entertain one another in a way that my niece and nephew don’t (now teenagers). Plus you save a fortune on clothes! I wish you a smooth remainder of your pregnancy.

MissyB1 · 31/05/2023 17:48

Fabulous! I have 3 boys and have really enjoyed being a boy mum. And my 3 all get on so well despite being quite different characters!

Hidinginaonesie · 31/05/2023 17:50

Really happy for you! Congratulations 🎉

spiderlight · 31/05/2023 17:55

Congratulations! Boys are so much fun. I suspect you might have had a similar experience to us. Our DS made absolutely sure that we all knew he was a boy - the first image that appeared on the screen is one that I will never forget, and when we asked her to confirm at the end, she burst out laughing and said 'Oh, thank goodness you wanted to know!' 😆

MoonWitchMom · 31/05/2023 17:59

Thank you again everyone for your lovely comments!. It’s so nice to hear from other mums of boys, they really are the brilliant.

caringcarer that's what people post every time there's yet another post about how much someone wanted a boy. I have read many many posts about boys loving their mums , being cuddly, no stress or drama. I cannot recall a post where someone said they were so happy to be having a second girl, and everyone piled in with what is so wonderful about girls. It never happens, but when the boy posts pop up, it's excused as a balance to the non existent girl posts.
