Some people on a old school memories group I am on have decided they want to tour round the old school lol. They are going to ask the school if they can turn up to look round for old times sake?

What is this obsession with the past, and are teachers realistically going to want a group of strangers walking around?

One person on the group is obsessed with asking questions all the time, do you remember this and that etc nearly everyday. The same things also get repeated.

Also asking if women can post their names they were at school. because nobodys knows who the women are, as a lot of women change their name.

Now They have come up with a plan to tour the school lol. 😀
Would you be interested in all this?

Everyone grew up, we all went to school somewhere, who wants to keep remembering school days.

I have been a few times while my parents were alive and still in the vicinity. Sadly, my school is being closed in the summer due to falling rolls. It was founded in1699, and was a girls' grammar school when I attended.

You and I went to the same school! I saw that over the weekend and emailed the head teacher to say how sad I was that a school devoted for three centuries to the education of girls was having to close. When where you there?

I wouldn't want to do a group tour, but I would love to visit my Primary school. Is it really as big as I remember? Does it still smell the same (when the floors had been re-varnished during summer holidays)? Are the toilets still outside, or have they built some indoors now? 😀

I'm not even sure that the school is still there now, so unlikely any of my questions will be answered.

I walk round my secondary school every day.
I ended up teaching in it. Other old girls have ended up back here too.
Secondary school was a happy place for me but I d hate to revisit the horrible primary where I got bullied and terrified by dinner ladies and mean girls.

I would love to go back to my old primary school. The one place I can remember being truly happy. I remember it was very open plan with a large field next to a lake. We were allowed to work outside on hot days under the trees. I was doing finger painting with DNiece the other day and the smell of the paint took me right back to year one. I love taking myself in a nostalgia trip so if I was given the chance to go back for a look I definitely would.

Um,isn't thanking of the point of an old school memories group?
that they talk about their memories from school
would it be akin to.joining a knitting group and complaining everyone talked about knitting?

My old school was knocked down. Not much to tour.
