I am just watching a repeat of the Coronation. The bit about swearing allegiance to him and his heirs and successors. Absolutely not.

No.
I'm sure lots did and that's fine but it's not for me.

DramaAlpaca · 08/05/2023 20:02

Nope

JMSA · 08/05/2023 20:03

No

TheGrimSqueakersFlea · 08/05/2023 20:04

Why are you watching it again? If you're not bothered by it just let it go

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 08/05/2023 20:05

I swore but it wasn't a pledge of allegiance.

Greenkitchen · 08/05/2023 20:06

No, such an antiquated concept.

I watched it, a bit like watching the spectacle of a circus 😂 It felt really flat and quite boring.

BarelyLiterate · 08/05/2023 20:08

Of course not.

As a constitutional monarch, he works for us and for the governments we elect. We don’t work for him.

HicLocusEst · 08/05/2023 20:09

Vivs, lovely, you don't need to torment yourself like this.
Put a video on. Clear a cupboard out.
This obsession isn't healthy.

Hearmeout · 08/05/2023 20:10

No, but then I don't say amen at the end of the lord's prayer at a church wedding either, I just an ruddy rebel that way

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/05/2023 20:10

Fuck no.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 08/05/2023 20:11

I don't believe anyone could possibly think not doing it is unreasonable. It's ludicrous. I'm agog at the idea of rewatching it Confused

Exactly the words I had in mind.

TBH it was on Sky News and I was waiting for Coronation Street to start!

Absolutely. I didn't watch it in the first place and I don't know anyone who swore allegiance - let alone rewatched it.

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 08/05/2023 20:20

Fuck no.

Myfuckingredtrousers · 08/05/2023 20:22

No way didn’t even watch it!

Napoleonsjosephine · 08/05/2023 20:24

No , but to be fair, I wouldn’t watch it twice either,

MistyGreenAndBlue · 08/05/2023 20:24

May he live forever 😂

sugarfreegum · 08/05/2023 20:25

Were we expected to? Genuine question!

Jitterybugs · 08/05/2023 20:28

I swore a short 2 word oath and the second word was off 😀

Nanalisa60 · 08/05/2023 20:28

No I did not, but I really enjoyed the the hole thing, and the concert last night was so much better then I expected. Im quite happy that Charles is the King. The royal family only cost us about £2 each a year, well sorry I think that’s good value for money. They are a constant in a very mad world, and with all that’s happened in this country in the last 10 years I’m happy with having a royal family. Remember they are here to serve us and I would not want there jobs for all the tea in China.

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 08/05/2023 20:29

😂🤣. Em - no!!!!

Bloodsweatntears · 08/05/2023 20:30

I didn’t, but I wish him all the very best and I’m glad he’s our King.
