id like to say ‘theres always on’ but there seems to be a lot more than that

I really hate how polarised and deaf this country has become to different opinions.

It's the same on so many topics, just lots of shouting others down, dismissing alternative viewpoints, ridiculing of whe groups of people.

Feels like it's the way of the world now and we're all the worse off for it.

SummerLover01 · 06/05/2023 22:48

*whole groups of people

RufustheSpecuIatingreindeer · 06/05/2023 22:50

Theres always one…doh 🤦🏻‍♂️

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/05/2023 22:50

If everyone who didn't like the way the country is being run left, then Rishi and his wife would have the whole place to themselves.

This bell campaigned for free speech. Now supports suppression of free speech.

HarrietSchulenberg · 06/05/2023 22:51

How about we declare a republic and insist that this odious little twat emigrates, taking the risible royal family with him?

MrsSkylerWhite · 06/05/2023 22:52

Lee Anderson is a dickhead 🤷‍♀️

Inkypot · 06/05/2023 22:53

Aw brilliant, so finally a Tory who agrees we should have independence! Fantastic 🙌

TheHandmaiden · 06/05/2023 22:55

What a shabby lot the Conservatives are.

He only wants free speech for people who agree with him. Twat.

Post of the decade year day. Soundbites, social media, playing to whichever gallery and all it does is polarise and fix opinion.

LubaLuca · 06/05/2023 23:03

Lee Anderson says a lot of things. I think it's fair to say he's not a man of great intelligence, but he doesn't let that hold him back.

He recently announced he would never move to Wales. I don't know who he thought needed to know that (had he threatened to at some point?), but sighs of relief rang through the valleys this side of the border.

JacobsCrackersCheeseFogg · 06/05/2023 23:06

It's always this ultimatum, isn't it?

If you don't like the (political party/government), leave!
If you don't like Brexit, leave!
If you don't like tge monarchy, leave!

It's such a cliché.

Quite. Anderson will eventually whittle the entire nation of Britain down to him, his sons, his parents, and his mate Dave from Pinxton. They'll all holiday in Skegness together.

Shame "we don't like the government its performance or policies so you need to leave" never seems to work on our politicians!

OllytheCollie · 06/05/2023 23:15

He's got a mate from Pinxton? I find that very hard to believe.

PermanentTemporary · 06/05/2023 23:18

What a coincidence - I'd quite like it if Lee left the country myself.

CherryPieface · 06/05/2023 23:19

The man is such an embarrassment. Breaks my heart that people thought it was acceptable to vote for him.

99victoria · 06/05/2023 23:36

The irony being of course, that some of us anti-monarchists would love to leave the country but unfortunately Brexit means we can't!

cakeorwine · 06/05/2023 23:50

I wonder if this is the view of the Conservative party?

Well, they obviously don't like living in a free country, so why don't they leave?

And to add to the irony, the people most inclined to say this tend to be really anti-migration, yet they think that anyone who disagrees with them should migrate!

Pemba · 07/05/2023 00:02

What a twerp. It's just as much your country and your home whether you believe in the monarchy or not. This applies to lots of things. Disgusting how the peaceful protestors were treated today - arrested, when they'd already been in contact with the police ahead of time and thought they had the go-ahead. What happened to free speech?

Personally I've managed to avoid watching any of the coronation, sick of the lot of them.

cakeorwine · 07/05/2023 08:37

I wonder if Sunak realises that having people like Lee Anderson as Deputy Chair is alienating as many voters in some places as he may be gaining elsewhere.

Telling people who don't agree with something that they should leave the country is not what you expect from a Conservative politician.

TheHandmaiden · 07/05/2023 11:04

You think? I think there's a lot of Conservative voters who have these sentiments themselves. That's why he said it, the dog whistling fool.

The Conservative Party do not choose people like 30p by accident.
