Going to be on my feet pretty much non stop for a week, more than normal, anyone got any good recommendations for super comfy footwear?

I'm looking at Nike and New balance.
My last pair was sketchers go run and they are comfy but I want a change as I'm not keen on their new branding.

resipsa · 28/04/2023 17:15

On Clouds. I'm on my 5th pair.

dietcokelime · 28/04/2023 17:16

New balance / on clouds / hokkas (not sure on that spelling!).

Many, many years ago I worked at the motorshow exhibition for 4 days, in a time where models wearing high heels were hired in to attract male buyers. They said the secret was to have 2 pairs of shoes with different heels and change during the day. It definitely helps, you’re not putting exactly the same stresses on tge same spot all day.

ascis
on clouds

Merrell (for me) are really comfortable and good for long hours on your feet, but obviously more of a walking shoe style. The ones I’ve had fit really nice straight out the box, that’s a lot of why I like them.

greenacrylicpaint · 28/04/2023 18:21

ones that fit well and support the arch.

personally I find memory foam incredibly uncomfortable after a few minutes. it's as if the foam turns as hard as concrete and loses 'bounce'.

I just keep my running trainers for walking after they are retired from running.

Ecco Terracruise Lite.

Hokas are great, like walking on clouds. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and these are so comfy and have helped immensely with the pain.

CMOTDibbler · 28/04/2023 18:30

It depends on your feet, but for me it is Hokas with Enertor insoles. I did 10 hour shifts (plus at least an hour either side on my feet) volunteering at the Commonwealth games and my feet did great. Compression socks work wonders too

WarningToTheCurious · 28/04/2023 19:35

New Balance works for me. I started trying them as they were the only brand stocked or the physio / podiatry centre.

C1239 · 28/04/2023 19:42

Thank you some great suggestions here, don’t suppose any of you have the links for the one you’ve brought and been happy with? Hokas for example there’s quite a few types , 10 hour shifts at the commonwealth games is similar to what I ll be doing so sound like a good option!

Allbirds! So so comfy..I have three pairs can walk for hours

BogRollBOGOF · 28/04/2023 19:53

I'd go to a specialist running shop where the staff know their stock and what suits different feet.

I could reccommend my trainers, but it's pretty pointless if your feet aren't very wide, with a high arch requiring a lot of support.

Willowtre1 · 28/04/2023 19:54

Allbirds are good if you need lots of space in the toe box and they have arch support. I think good for everyone really

CarryMeToIreland · 28/04/2023 19:56

Skechers trainers, but the soft fabric ones. Wore them at Disney World and walked over 20,000 steps in a day in them. Did this for several holidays there. All of us wear them, me, Dh and the children who are now teens. I also wear their sandals too.

Asics

GettingStuffed · 28/04/2023 20:16

I think pp who said it's personal is correct . I've tried a few brands and I always come back to Reebok as they're the correct width and instep and the size fits. Although I have wide feet Skechers are too wide, puma shredded my feet. I like the look of new balance but there's always something that puts me off.

I have a pair of ellesport trainers but they are nowhere near as comfy as my reeboks

florenceandthemac · 28/04/2023 20:19

On Cloud. Look into the different ones and what they are suitable for
