Going to be on my feet pretty much non stop for a week, more than normal, anyone got any good recommendations for super comfy footwear?

I have awful bunions so I’ve tried loads of different trainers.

I love my allbirds. I’ve also tried on pretty much every pair of sketchers trainers and I like their Go Run. I can walk for ages in them.

Sketchers. They’re absolutely brilliant.

No idea how to do the link thing on a phone, sorry

Gola, I was very surprised how cushioned mine are and they've stayed that way for years.

fellrunner85 · 28/04/2023 22:04

On Cloud might be OK for walking, but they're shit for running in, and really don't last. Quite a few running friends of mine bought them when they were the "new thing" a few years back, and nobody ever bought a second pair as they just fell to pieces. Wore through on the soles in most cases. Maybe they're more actively targeting walkers now as they have a crap reputation as running shoes?

Hokas are ok but come up very narrow - unless you have narrow feet, buy the wide version as they're on a par with most "normal" fit shoes. I prefer the trail ones to the road ones.

I'd recommend Brooks Ghost or Nike Pegasus.

Theredtoyphone · 28/04/2023 22:04

Hoka trainers are amazing.

I have tried three different ones - Clifton, Rincon and Arahi and all have been excellent. i won’t wear anything else now.

On Clouds are comfortable right from the off BUT they are expensive e and not particularly hard wearing. I've had two pairs and both look fatty quickly, ime.

Keepitweird · 28/04/2023 22:09

Go for a gait analysis at your local running shop they deal with both runners and walkers. What suits one person won't necessarily suit you.

florenceandthemac · 29/04/2023 08:20

Which Ons did they run in @fellrunner85?
I don't suppose it matters too much as everyone is different anyway. But after lots of research a few years ago, I bought Brooks Adrenaline and ended up with an injury that I blame these trainers for! I've been running in On Cloudflyer for a year now and really like them

Brooks road running trainers!

I bought mine after a walked through 2 pairs of sketches trainers in about 14 months.

So far I am in my 2nd year and no issues- they have even been in the washing machine!

I second this, Brooks road running trainers give excellent support and are very comfortable.

I also like Asics gel kayano. Whilst they don't have that squidgy effect like crocs do, they're really supportive and stable and I find that more important.
