Me… Dh’s dad arriving at the holiday rental when it was dark, which had its own swimming pool. Us switching the lights on and coming out to him only to hear a splash and he’d fallen into the pool, suitcase and all! I still laugh a lot thinking about it years later.

The podcast My Dad made a Porno used to make me laugh out loud, which as I used to listen to it when I was walking alone was sometimes a bit awkward.

Slapstick doesn't make me laugh, I generally feel too bad for the person it's happened to, unless it's on a TV program and not real.

I was at the park with my husband and kids. We were mucking around and decided to try and stage a video for You've Been Framed of Dad falling off the kids scooter, get £250 for our efforts - sorted. He went up the hill and I got ready to record but 2 people started walking up the hill so I thought he wasn't going to go but nope he shot down the hill too fast, hit the grass verge and somersaulted over the handlebars of the scooter landing on his back on the grass. He just lay there winded with the kids all concerned about their Dad and me standing at the side pissing myself I couldn't help him up because I was laughing too much. He was gutted when he realised I hadn't pressed record 😂 So that's how he got hurt while trying to pretend to get hurt and we still crack up about it now.

Once a chap in work improvised a standing desk by putting a chair on his desk and his laptop on the chair. He'd requested a proper standing desk and I dunno whether this was him making a point about how long it was taking or if he genuinely just found that more comfy. Either way I found it just hilarious and was doubled over at my (sitting) desk, shaking with silent laughter, hoping he wouldn't notice.

My mum speeding past the living area on a mobility scooter on the patio area on holiday and crashing it off the side of the decking. Luckily no injuries but it was hilarious.

I am in tears🤣🤣🤣

At a National Trust place with DP. He disappeared and I eventually found him hanging over a 2ft hedge. He was kind of swaying about with the hedge with his arms dangling over the front.

Me: Um, what are you doing DP?

DP: WTF do you think I'm doing? I'm falling over this hedge.

Then he was pissed off because I was laughing too much to help him off the hedge. He said he just turned round suddenly and lost his balance and landed on top of the hedge. Then he couldn't get a grip on anything to help him off. God, I'm laughing now🤣🤣🤣

Taking DS to meet his Dsis for lunch on his 21st birthday. Got into my very small car and asked how to slide the seat to give himself more legroom (he's 6ft). Pulled lever and threw his weight back.
He had pulled the upright adjuster instead and went flying backwards with his feet in the air as it lowered into horizontal position, it was like a cartoon. Many wisecracks about not being ready for adulthood!
We cried laughing for about 20 minutes before I was able to drive and it still sets us off.

icelollycraving · 14/04/2023 09:40

When I started dating dh, I was cooking for us. I did a big dish of prawns in their shells with lots of garlic butter. Told him to start and I’d get a finger bowl. Came back to him merrily crunching away, shells, eyes, the lot. He hadn’t ever had prawns not in a Marie Rose sauce. Makes me giggle now. He insists it never happened 🤣

My Grandad had a wicked sense of humour. At his funeral, as he was being laid to rest, my cousin walked off and sat on an old rickety bench which immediately snapped in half and encased him like a sandwich. Everybody erupted with laughter and I know my Grandad would’ve found it absolutely hilarious

Heavily pregnant with DS1, watching Total Wipeout (water obstacle course, Richard Hammond presenting). Contestant landed right on his nuts, they put a squeaky toy sound effect over it, and I absolutely lost it. Tears, couldn’t speak, bump went into braxton hicks solid, I slid off the sofa and couldn’t regain my composure for a good 10 mins.

Toebrushtoe · 14/04/2023 18:04

'The Olivia Pope white coat' thread on Mumsnet Classics.
It made me do the stifled crying laughing thing, where it made my eyes and nose run.
Even now I can feel a laugh burbling up, just by thinking about it!

My daughter sorted out the laundry on the airer earlier & came into the room horrified that someone had shrunk her soft grey ribbed blanket into a small square. I nearly died as it was actually a pillowcase I'd spilled a drink on the night before 🤣🤣🤣 we'd never noticed before that how similar they were 🤣

😂

MrsPinkCock · 14/04/2023 21:58

Working at a big law firm. They decided to trial new software for auto generating email signatures.

Head of IT emailed the whole firm, and every branch office, proudly announcing that the new email signatures were now live, whilst not realising that someone else in IT had changed his job title to “KNOB”.

So a formal email went out to hundreds of people from John Smith - KNOB

I cried for weeks 😂

SmirnoffIceIsNice · 14/04/2023 22:06

A suggested page came up on my FB the other day and I've since started following it. It's called Hilarious Ted and (Amongst other things) they post these videos "If Birds Had Arms" where they've got videos of chickens/pigeons/ducks etc running around and cleverly drawn arms and other accessories on them. It really made me laugh when I was feeling down.

SmirnoffIceIsNice · 14/04/2023 22:09

Alternatively Google "If Birds Had Arms" as there are vids on You Tube too.

My cat being chased by next door's dog. Ran in through the cat flap so fast that he took the cat flap frame with him, lodged on his belly, then got spooked as the cat flap clattered after him round the house.

Pattydale · 14/04/2023 22:18

I need to Google Olivia white coat now!
I've just chuckled at the grandma on a scooter

My DS once flew backwards off a treadmill which I still can't find funny because I was so worried but would have made £250 on you've been framed!
